Unfortunate but now it's time to stop.

It's time to stop playing with the idea of A9, Government should understand by flip flopping the idea can't achieve the dialog they want.

If the A9 posses threat to Sri Lankan National security then it is a theme, which should not be addressed under any circumstances. Government did propose an alternative but ltte refuse it and now it's time for ltte to understand that there are no compromises on National security matters, and if the price is war for the national security then so should it be.

I personally like this A-15 beach road rather than A-9 because of the beautiful scenery along the way

Why alternative? Why cannot A9 be opened?
Was this part of CFA?
Can anyone tell why this was there in CFA?

Before any peaceful resolution to the conflict people have to live in peace. Tell us how many are in refugee camps and how many are internally displaced.

My guess is that LTTE is planning to explode SLA sentry points using truck bombs - a reasonable excuse for SLA to close A9. Gov must explain people clearly why they have closed A9 instead giving lame excuses and alternatives.

The security concerns surrounding the opening of the Muhamalai checkpoint is complete hogwash, what do armies fight only along designated roads????

'Oh look the check point is closed I guess that means we can't attack now lets go have some tea'

was the A9 open when the SLA attacked the LTTE on Oct 11 and got a beating? Did it stop either side?

The basic need for the SLA is human shields trapped in Jaffna especially along the border, and that is the sole reason for the A9 closure. Just as they saved themselves the last time using civilians as shields so that the LTTE couldn't use their big guns on SLA bases in the border villages.

BTW the LTTE do not need to waste truck bombs taking out those sentry points, remember your own Rumbutard claimed the LTTE shelled that Muhamalai entry point for 48 hours straight at one point and the place is so damaged that it would take months to fix.

to support your say, the A9 gate is open at omanthai. foods go to vanni. the gates are closed only at muhamalai, so the foods reached vanni cannot go to jaffna. only jaffna peoples are trapped!
