Assassinated Jaffna District TNA parliamentarian`s widowed wife Sasikala Raviraj, Saturday morning when Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Mr. Mangala Samaraweera visited the parlour, made an appeal to open the A9 Muhamalai exit-entry point in order to take her husband`s remains to his hometown Chavakachcheri for cremation. The funeral is scheduled to be held on Wednesday in Chavakachcheri in Jaffna. Hundreds of mourners from all ethnic communities, political leaders, religious dignitaries and social activists gathered in Colombo to pay their last respects to the assassinated Jaffna district Parliamentarian Nadarajah Raviraj.
The slain MP`s last will was his remains should be cremated at his home town, family memebers told TamilNet.
Mr. Samaraweera has told her that he will convey the message to President Mahinda Rajapakse.
Until Saturday evening there was no positive response from the Government of Sri Lanka.
Tamil National Alliance MP Mavai Senathirajah has also appealed to Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse to allow Raviraj`s coffin to be taken to Jaffna through the A-9 highway.
SL Minister of Housing and Construction Ms. Ferial Ashraff, Governor of the Western Province Alawi Maulana, Opposition UNP leaders Karu Jayasuriya and Milinda Moragoda also paid their last respects to the slain Tamil parliamentarian.

GOSL must say YES,..this is a good moment to back down rivalry and show some harmony.
I wish LTTE will do the same respect.
At least, Raviraj death will help to bring some peace!.
I wish Raviraj will born again for Tamils and for Sri Lanka. |

Paesident Mahinda let's open the A9 road to a loving son of mother lanka who loved all sinhalise,Tamils and muslims alike and who lived in the south along with the sinhalise and his daughter goes to school in the south and her friends are mostly sinhalise.
Lets show we all are one and the sinhalise are not killers and thats why so many of out tamil brothers live in the south of the country and not in the north where if a sinhala man goes will be dead meet before he knows it. |

Robins,
I think GOSL will open. In fact, its not a fact that even GOSL must expect any points (by opening the road for Raviraj).
We know, once GOSL helped Dara Master, when he wanted to see a doctor.
This Raviraj matter is much more important, so they will open I am sure. |

Since he was living and settled in Colombo, he should be burried somewhere in Colombo.
Not in Boralla Kanatta, as its going to be an insult to the fallen soldiers. |

The Tamil martyrs shouldn't be buried in the land of the killers, Raviraj body must be brought to the sacred ground of Tamil Eelam martyrs. The traitors like Karuna, Douglas, Sangari, Kusumpan and his friends should be buried in the Singhala south, but not the Tamil patriots like Raviraj.
We cannot let the Traitors' bodies polluting the scared ground of Tamil martyrs, at the same time we cannot insult the Tamils like Raviraj in their death. Even if we can't bring his mortal remains to Tamil Eelam, his remains must be brought to Tamil Eelam on a later day or they should burry him in Vavuniya now and bring him to Jaffna on a later day.
May the great martyr of Tamil Eelam Ravi raj rest in peace, God might be slow in delivering justice, but Prabhakaran will deliver swift justice to your killers. Our leader will make sure that your death will not go in vain and soon he will start the fire works in the Singhala south to avenge your death.
Good bye great Tamil Eelam patriot, Nadarajah Raviraj. Edited By - Thivya - 11 Nov 2006 17:10:19 GMT |
