Bro Lion,

Pls take care of my new girl friend Priya

Priya is a real 'Priya' to the forum don't you think I mean the Sinhalese meaning of 'Priya Upadawana'. I have not seen Priya going absolute nuts at any time. She gets annoyed by teasing but she has a good sense of humour and understanding and that is why I like her.

Good luck buddy, you are in for a good time definitely. By the way there is a Dushtaya for you who is Realman. I think you can sign a Peace pact with him bro :-)

Where is our popular man Berty? I miss his comments you know. Though we argue I like him too.

Here we have another silly one !
'The LTTE is using humans as shields to cover their operations,' Media Minister Anura Yapa also said. 'This is exactly what happened when they fired artillery and mortars from that end to the government side.'

This pundit new that they (ltte) is going to use the human shield but did nothing but wait till the things get out of hand. They call them selves 'Ministers'.

Saint,

'This is very serious. Government forces fired at unarmed people with the aim of killing them,' Norway's International Development Minister, Erik Solheim, who is also the top peace-broker for Sri Lanka, told Norway's NRK broadcaster.

The issue here is the Norwegians together with Erick was not doing their duty properly as assigned. Instead of facilitating they are trying to represent the LTTE. There is a clear difference between facilitation and representation. We don't want the latter from an outsider (a non-Sri Lankan) to poke into domestic issues in the first place.

I can also say that GOSL is a weak entity in dealing with such issues due to IC and the dependence of the aid. This is the truth, had we got enough backing from a country who has less ties with any of those developed countries this muddle would have been a less of an affair.

Mahinda is a dancer to the IC tune and so long as the aid is required the tune goes on and Mahinda would dance to any 'Wannam'.

EELAN MAMA,
Paavaadai Aasamy-thanks for accepting the defeat

I don?t wanna talk
About the things we?ve gone through
Though it?s hurting me
Now it?s history
I?ve played all my cards
And that?s what you?ve done too
Nothing more to say
No more ace to play

The winner takes it all
The loser standing small
Beside the victory

JRJayawardena!

I made the following comments earlier today.

I can see that here ltte is behaving very stubbornly, its like ?I am going to hit you, and you better be very patient because if not, I am not going to talk to you? type threatening. Behavior is very similar to kindergarten students.

It?s sad because they are using the threat of violence in addition to boycott the peace talks. Correct me if I am wrong, I heard that, follow up to the October peace talks, there was an agreement of going to participate in the peace talks without any conditions from both sides or am I wrong?

Now what are these mediators are doing when one party is violating the whole process by imposing conditions for the participation? I really don?t want to insult Norwegians or any other party here, but mediators should act in the good will of the process, they should have told both parties what will be the consequences in case one party?s unacceptable behavior. Of course no one wants to pressure the Norwegians because they don?t like when some one is telling them how to do their work and now continues the war for everyone?s pride.

As the peace brokers, mediators have this responsibility of (?make? or ?help?) Arrange the parties to agreeing on certain matters and let everyone, who participate in the talks know the penalties for the foul play, should it to take place, but for our sorrow our mediators are as unintelligent as it gets, or they are not the true type of mediators, who we are looking for.

Government officials, who went to Switzerland also didn?t have enough intelligence to point out the happening violation and position they (Government delegation) fell in to, after the ?Norwegian Rulet?. What was the imminent result? And why they went all the way to Switzerland to announce the failure? These are the true unprofessional factors Sri Lankan government side is displaying even with the massive experience.

They didn?t do their homework well.

International community can be a pain sometimes but not for the true professionals, because if we play it according to their books then they will be out of critical words. I wanted to show you, there are examples in former Yugoslavia or Georgia.
Most importantly we are doing nothing wrong if our intensions are pure.

Saint,

Most importantly we are doing nothing wrong if our intensions are pure.

A good analogy followed up your justification of the stalemate we have. Yes, I agree.

In my view, I think the President should openly express the power devolution concept (either PCs or Federal)among the southerners. In fact subsequent to that there should be a referendum to see whether the Southern masses prefer to have Federal to be implemented. In doing so we have the backing of the true masses not by few onlookers.

I think most importantly Mahinda should be honest to the Sri Lankans at this juncture. By being dishonest he's going nowhere with or without those facilitators. Norway can/can't be kicked out at the discretion of the GOSL. As I said due to economic reasons they have to be dragged into the equaion. And as you said if the GOSL is honest in their work these facilitators are not an issue.

What we need is not to listen to LTTE kids for their mischief but to express what we need to provide. In doing so there is legitimacy to this factor.

As I mentioned earlier if we hold a referendum on the Federal issue we'll see what is there to be taken as a result. Roughly I would say it will be 50 :50 like with Mahinda and Ranil getting each other. So the deciding factor will be the ones who were deprived of voting last time. By calculating these votes its imperative that we need a federal system. So if that is the case why not make a move?

After all we cannot go on fooling everybody at every time. Someday or oneday the truth will come out and haunt.
