You can interchange....Abogines and Red Indians were a small populace in huge lands.....you can't apply that to NE....and English never tried to chase away Irish from their land like your guys did to Sinahlese/Muslims in NE!

Wait when did the irish get into this I said N. America and Australia, N. Ireland is a bit more complex still but not too disimilar to Sri Lanka.

The natives and the aboriginies? right, I use homeland or nation interchangeably

the natives have been very nicely sidelined. the white man did it the nice way.

old saying from Desmond Tutu the archbishop.

the white man came with bible and we had the land. he said let us all pray together and when we looked up he has the land and we had the bible

the fact of the matter is that Tamils have lived on the island continuosly far longer than Europeans have lived in North America or Australia, thus they have much more claim to equal treatment than those Europeans have claim to nations of their own in either continent.

sinhalese are one time TAMILS and carry 70% south indian TAMIL blood.

These Tamilnet guys are not checking what they post..

Check the Following news Item

http://www.tamilnet.com/art.html?catid=13&artid=20114

The image state

'Patients fleeing from Kilinochchi General Hospital'

The picture does not give you the image of people fleeing. Looks like a normal day at the hospital. People going in and not.

No one else in the image looks running away.

Image 3:

The beds look like they are old and rusted.

I taught this was a brand new hospital...

WE TAMILS

A small number of folks from the Tamil speaking community of Sri Lanka... looking for special status, above the rest, beyond the ordinary because they wear a cap called 'We Tamil' when they enter the arena.

They demand that all existing norms, rules, regulations, traditions, history, seating, charters and laws BE AMENDED AND BENT..in order to accommodate their wishes, whims and fancies...

It's all because of that cap.....

How to bust this complex? Simple... first demand that the caps be removed and 'We Sri Lankan' caps be worn...
If they not comply with it, shoot the cap off with a powerful gun.

Revy, I thought Indian Tamils (as you call them) are also included under the definition 'WE TAMILS' and you call Sinhalese racists.

Watch your back man!!

WE TAMILS is only for the benifit of one old broken record known as vini, it constantly sends his blood pressure over the limit, that is the only reason I use it, I think ALL the people of the island should be treated EQUALLY, which is something the racists in power never want to allow.

EDIT: See I rest my case; just say WE TAMILS and the old dogs runs out of its kennel like someone just opened up a great big bag of bacon bits.

'WE TAMILS' have dealt with the threat in the past.

'WE TAMILS are dealing with the same now, recently send around 400 under 6 ft and 700 with heavy bleed.

'WE TAMILS' will deal with the threat accordingly in the future too!

Revy:

Why don't YOU go learn some history instead of barking like a lunatic, the Portugeuse ruled the Island as they found it, with three kingdoms, the Tamil one in the NE and the two Sinhala ones in the South and Centre. The came the British and put it all together

You are right to a certain extent. The Great Rajarata hydraulic civilisation lasted for about 1500 years and was initially centred in Anuradhapura. As a result of Dravidian invasions, the capital was later shifted to Polonnaruwa. Following the sudden collapse of this great civilisation then based in Polonnaruwa in the 13th century, the Sinhalese drifted towards the south-west with their rulers establishing capitals in major cities such as Dambadeniya, Yapahuva, Gampola and Kotte. The fall of the civilisation has been attributed to a number of factors such as Dravidian invasions and Malaria. If i'm not mistaken ever since the 5th century AD to the middle of the 12th century, Sri Lankan culture was influence by by Tamil kings and invaders from southern India. When the Portugeuse arrive in 1505 Sri Lanka had been partitioned into a number of petty kingdoms.

Read the Mahavamsa , a chronicle first compiled in Pali, in the sixth century

http://lakdiva.org/mahavamsa/chapters.html

I wouldn't say it is right to say North & East of Sri Lanka was the homeland of the tamils and it only belong to tamils nor it is right to say that Central, West, and south of the Sri Lanka is the tradition homeland of the Sinhalese.

I would rather say all of Sri Lanka is the homeland for all its citizens.
