Revy:

This tamil kingdom is not very old and didn't last long. The inhabitants were mostly chola invaders who chose to settle there according to the article. And, English didn't unite it. But portugese killed the king and ended the kingdom. There wasn't anything left to unite during the english time.

WE TAMILS

three options..

1. live in peace and harmony with sinhalese and muslims
2. hide inside bunkers and get killed
3. experience a luxuary life in eurpe and talk about tamils in sri lanka

option 1 - will be eligible to live in sri lanka with our blessing

option 2 - have no choice ; your days are numbered

option 3 - stop wasting your time on this forum, go to red light district and have some fun

There are two distinct groups of Tamils the ones you mention are the Indian Tamils brought over several generations ago, and if not for them your country would have been nothing, what was the only purpose of your country to anyone at the time? That?s right TEA and who plucked the tea leaves? That?s right those Indian Tamils.

Not surprisingly the racial hatered of 'We Tamils' superiority complex continues. The typical racist view keep hammering down the plain like a big thud. Your, country, your people, our country, our people. What's more yours and ours? The inventory continues I guess.

Ok guys, moderates, racists, and commoners. Have a good night. I am off.

Insulting 'Ranawiruwo'

(LeN-Nov. 01, 10.00am) President Rajapaksa's government went to Geneva this time to tell they wouldn't open the A-9 Road for civilian traffic, to and from Jaffna. This present government keeps saying the Jaffna people can be supplied food and other necessities, only if the LTTE allows safe passage via sea. What the SL government does not say is, they need to secure a security guarantee from the LTTE to move military supplies by sea, between Trincomalee and KKS, while transporting food and other items to Jaffna. They know quite well the Cease Fire Agreement (CFA) does not allow military traffic along the A-9 route between Omanthai and Muhamalai. They also know, if the A-9 route is opened, traders will have an abundant supply of goods available in the Jaffna peninsula and loosen the military grip the government presently holds on the people of Jaffna.

All that kept out of negotiations in Geneva, the SL government's refusal to open up the A-9 road, gives unimaginable opportunities for other high profile players within its decision making process. Who will charter the cargo ships that would carry regular food supplies? For how long? At what cost? And the 'commissions' to whom? Will those goods be specially consigned? Will they remit commissions too for some one's name?

A-9 is no small deal, though at the cost of those lives that may perish slowly over time within the Jaffna peninsula. And its no small insult too,to all those thousands of youthful soldiers, who died to recapture the A-9 Road from the LTTE. An insult for all who died fighting to open up the road from Mankulam to Elephant -65533; pass during the much publicised, heavily paid 'Jaya-sikurui' operation, also under this same People's Alliance, though under a different Head of State.

Can those 'Ranawiruwo' (War heroes) who died fighting to capture the A-9 Road be given their lives back now, for they had given their young lives in vain to open up the A-9 Road ? This government wants to keep the A-9 closed. And those Sinhala patriots want it that way too.
