Sakthi
War or a liberation struggle is waged by multidisciplinary team.It is a team work. There are fighters who are at the fore fornt of the battle ground. These fighters cannot fight with their bare hands and on empty stomachs. They need weapons and food, at least to say ,if they are to defeat the enemies. This is where the importance of the so-called 'fat' diasporas comes in.We the diaspora provides that vital assistance for the fighters, to continue to fight and anihilate the enemy. Our very important contributions to the struggle is very much realised and appreciated by our leader and the fighters and the people of Thamileelam. Not only our people value our contributions to our struggle, but the sinhala state terrorists govt is also is concerned about our contributions. That is the reason the sinhala state terrorist govt requested lot of countries to ban the movement in their countries and some countries have obliged. So,we the diaspora are also actively involved in the struggle, may be away from the battle field.

Kajankk,

Thanks for your long response. I am sorry I dont have much time to reply in detail.

As for Tamil rights, I have been one of the very few Sinhalese here who vehemently accepted the rights of the Tamils (an the rights of any minority for that matter) and somebody who had been advocating a negotiated settlement in the place of the ruthless and brutal war ever since I have been here.

That does not mean I have to endorse LTTE terrorism. I vehemently oppose LTTE terrorism, Karuna terrorism and Al Qaeda terrorism as I hate every terrorist including the state terrorists. I am a Gandhian. I believe in non violence.

It is not important to me whether Sinhalese came first or Tamils came first. I dont measure the ?nativity? of a community either by the time they have been here or by the numbers. In my theory every Sri Lankan should have similar rights to this land. This is not a land belong to any one community.

I stand for a UNITED and SECULAR Sri Lanka where every Sinhalese, every Tamil every Muslim or basically EVERY SRI LANKAN, can stand with his or her head high with dignity.

YOU are questioning me that What did the Government did do to the Tamil

Well i am saying that Tamils have suffered more and Now Sinhala and Tamil suffer

The Sl Government rejected Tamils rights]

1.Making Sinhala only act
2.No enough facilities to North East
3.Tamils sould get highher makrs to get in to a universisty
4.Treat them like slave

Kajankk,
3.Tamils sould get highher makrs to get in to a universisty

This depend on the district quota... Again my district is same We need to get highest mark to get University admission But if somebody come with low marks from Monaragala or Ampara they will entitled b's of less privilege students in those districts

SL hasn't developed as western countries to accommodate all for Universities based on results
Sometimes its not fare too
Somebody from Colombo with AAA cant go to a medical faculty But a student from Monaragala or Ampara can get the admission with comparably lower grades

People are disappearing everywhere in sri Lanka on a daily basis. The parents have rights to protest against abducting thier kids either for execution or for child recruitment. The LTTE is abducting people especially children as child soldiers from LTTE-controlled areas. Can their parents protest against human right violations in Vanni?

Sakthi,
I stand for United and secular Sri Lanka.

This is what I beleieved and even worked for more than a decade, may be,even before you were born.Even when I came to UK,I wasn't a supporter of Thamlieelam cause,But after 1983 pogram,my views have completly changed and convinced that, enough is enough,we tamils cannot co-exists with the sinhala state terrorists, who are bent on sujugating and enslaving the tamils and do not want to share REAL power with the tamils.
My stand and the position I took after the 83 pogram have been vindicated several times by the actions of the sinhala state terrorist govts, since then.

Guys, that tears from a mother who has lost her son and all mothers who has lost their sons, daughters suffer like this whether they are Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims or any other race.

Question is how long we are going to allow this to happen!!

There were few good turning points in the recent past, hopefully people with power would make some bold decisions to bring this to an end.

Nale,

We the diaspora provides that vital assistance for the fighters, to continue to fight and anihilate the enemy.

Tamil Diaspora provides only a maximum of 15% of the LTTE aggregate income. (about US$ 40-50 mil out of US$ 350-400 mil budget.) Even the tax income of LTTE itself is much higer than this figure.

There are about 1 million Tamils outside the country. Forget dependents and take this as half of 1 mil. It is 500,000.

Divide US$ 50 mil by 500,000 and you get US$ 100 per every Tamil.

So each expat Tamil provides US$ 100 to Tamil struggle per annum.

On the other hand, LTTE itself earns 85% of their income.

They have an estimated force of 25,000. So were LTTE is a business organisation every 'employee' of it earns more than US$ 13,600.

Do you see the difference?

Each LTTE cadre earns US$ 13,600 (while fighting and risking his or her life) and each expat contributes US$ 100 per annum of average basis. (Most of them earn a minimum of US$ 3,000 PER MONTH)

This means either a large number of Tamils expats dont contribute to LTTE (because they do not approve the struggle) or the contributions were as small as US$ 100 per annum.

That is the extpat fat cats' contribution to the struggle.
