She is a spent force and she should leave politics now and retire,as recently she attended a funeral of an eminent Srilankan in London and hardly anyone noticed her.

Asian Human Rights Commission objects Ex- Sri Lanka President's appointment at UNESCO

Thursday, October 26, 2006, 13:50 GMT, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

It is also likely that UNESCO will suffer ridicule both from within Sri Lanka and also internationally...'
Oct 26, Colombo: The Hong Kong-based Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has officially expressed its objection to the former Sri Lankan President Chandrika Kumaratunga's appointment as a Senior Consultant to UNESCO.

In a letter to Director-General of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, Koichiro Matsuura, Programme Officer of the AHRC, KIM Soo stated that it is ?surprised and shocked that a person with a record of grossly violating human rights, abusing power and displacing the rule of law in Sri Lanka has been appointed as a senior consultant to a UN agency.?

?If Ferdinand Marcos of the Philippines or Suharto of Indonesia had been given such a post there would have been international outrage. However, as Mrs. Kumaratunga's record outside the country is not so well known, UNESCO may have taken this decision without being beware of her past acts,? the letter said.

After explaining detailed reports about former President Kumaratunga, the AHRC said ?It is also likely that UNESCO will suffer ridicule both from within Sri Lanka and also internationally if it does not reverse its decision to appoint Mrs. Kumaratunga.?

Why not CBK, if Anandasangaree is included? CBK had the capacity to override racial limits during my Tsunami interaction. Good luck CBK. May the Lord lead you to success that would benefit Sri Lanka also.

I hope this continues and people stop noticing her completely. What goes around comes around. Being the cunning b$t#h she is, she amassed quite a bit of wealth for herself when she was in power. Since there is no way she would be tried for all the cr@p she did while she was in power I hope she lives a miserable life with money she cant take when she dies. I hope you burn in hell b#t#h.

I agree with Gaja. After the Tsunami, She had the courage to visit terrorist strongholds and even shake hand with terrorists while the bloody terrorist leader was hiding deeper in a rat hole. I have no any doubt about her courage and her capacity.
