Ratnasiri Wickramanayake:
Government forces would counter any attack made by the LTTE during the time of talks in Geneva, mentioned Prime Minister, Ratnasiri Wickramanayake when he addressed the Prize giving ceremony in Horana on Monday.
We like peace, we do not want war. The GOSL will participate with commitment at the peace talks. But at the same time we will be vigilant on the security of the country. Government will take all necessary action to establish national security, the Premier said. |

LTTE must remember the despicable record of successive GOSLs
How did they cheat Tamil leaders after signing agreements.
1. In 1957 BC Pact was signed by PM Bandaranayake and Tamil leader SJV Chelvanayagam but jettisoned when JRJ and Buddhist monks started the anti-Tamil riots.
2. In 1965 PM Dudley Senanayake and SJV-C signed SC-Pact but Mrs Srimavo Bandaranayake started anti-Tamil riots to sabotage the intended District Councils.
3. In 2002 PM RW and LTTE leader VP signed CFA but when extremist President Rajapakse elected he encouraged SLA/navy to violate it by expelling Tamils from their homes and rearming paramilitaries.
4. In 2005 President CBK and LTTE VP siged P-TOMS but Sinhala judges declared 'illegal'.
So LTTE must be careful, GOSL signed agreements with Tamils in the past but never implemented any of them. If genuine devolution proposals were tabled insist on lifting of food embargo as a necessary precondition to talk about anything. Nobody has the right to deprive Tamils or any community from their basic human rights of eating their food. |

The Government appreciated the LTTE's participation in the peace negotiations in Geneva and President Mahinda Rajapakse was confident that the two parties would arrive at a practical agreement to stop fighting
Like with the government, the war is no longer merely between the LTTE and the GOSL. Sri Lanka has become the field for International military players. Without taking this into account, any agreement would be just symbolic of the recognition to talk to each other from time to time.
Going by Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva's approach to shortage of Mental Health doctors - I conclude that left to him - the war would start again and again - because he would tend to 'administer' and tell whereas Tigers must be made to feel that the CFA is a facility

making a realistic move to stop fighting between the LTTE and security forces....................
But don't tell me that you will on the sly support other paramilitaries and death squads to operate and kill Tamil civilians, abduct them, terrorize them and destroy Tamil media , etc.
If all kinds of GOSL sponsored fightings, killings and abductions stop then LTTE too is duty bound to stop its actions. That is the first step. Once there is confidence on that issue then things could move forward.
There should be a responsible body to examine any breaches and not people like Chandra Fernando or Rambukwela be in that team.
All racial, aggressive and stupid statements should stop forthwith.
Hope something good evolves out of this talks. |

One meaningful and realistic move to stop fighting should start as
Nimal Sripala kiss Tamilchelvan AZZ and show the true love in peace.!!
The very next realistic move would be showing the middle finger to Karuna !!
Third and not the last move would be shaving the beard from Dogulas Devananda!!
