You make some good points. let me address them
Mahinda came to power on the back of the JVP support and for his survival he kicked them and embrace the UNP. After all one has to realise this is not the first time these things happen. From the history of politics since 1948 this took place. Malli, I would not be surprised if Prabha is given a higher rank this whole thing stops abruptly.
this is why the tamils dont believe in lankan way of doing things. I think you were a JVP supported are you not. MR didnt care for the supporters of the JVP and for his political survival chased them off and is in bed with RW. the politicians are lootin the tresury while the poor as you say struggle. this is why tamils want to run their own affairs because we think we can do better.
VP was asked to be Chief minister of the North a good 10+yrs back and he refused. I dont think he is interested in photo ops and political office. remeber VP was a civil servants
son which means he wasnt Exactly poor. one cant buy him of with perks like this.
As I am living in SL, the situation seems more evident that political mileage is working at its best. In this juncture the losers are the poor voters who voted either for Mahinda or Ranil.
well said. the sinhalese have been cheated a lot but because they see the ethnic crisis everywhere (GOSl is good as it exploits the media to get this message accross) they seem to elecet and relect corrupt men. if you sinhalese are disappointed one doesnt hope the tamils will be happy with them would you.
anyway coming back to my original Q. do you think there will be a JVP uprising in the south particularly in the light of the JVP argument the the MOU between UNP/SLFP has taken out the word Tiger terrorism and replaced it with one word terrorsim. . afterall the soldiesr getting killed are frm the south (even after getting info that the tigers know of their advance they were still sent in and got killed!) How stupid can that be and yet No heads in the top echelon of power has rolled.
