Musketeer
My pal, then where do you keep Shri Lanka which is only involved in killing and suppressing the minorities since independence and refusing to give their legitimate rights?
How we could fight a war when the military is always unarmed innocent people while the Tamil people including infants and kids are armed to the teeth?
Shri Lanka is a classic example where armed conflict is simply inevitable if the minorities have to live with self respect and due rights.
Any way let us hope some thing evolves out of the talks. But another thing, no point of a talk unless the parties are of the equal strength. This we had to learn through an extermely hard and a painful lesson! |

Yes Musketeer,
You are right about winning and losing. But in reality there are various other factors beside the waring faction that decide the outcome.
See for instance the recent Lebanon fiasco. Israel was 'very strong' and fully backed by the evil empire the satan. Yet they could not achieve the final victory in fact many analysts argue that Israel in fact lost the battle.
Though the Lebanese civilains paid a heavy price yet it made them to become more harder and resistant to withstand the onslaught. Also many independent people and countries started supporting the Lebanese.
So there are various factors beside military strength that determine the final outcome. Sri Lankan conflcit cannot be an exception. |

Hi Nada,..
The 'Yes in to the power of N' answer is very positive.
I wish, soon or bit late we will have peace in SL.
Best luck. |

| Ah yes, the imperial govt. has to send its envoys to make the subject peoples carry out its decrees. The US and the IC which controls the purse strings of the SL budget could have ended this long ago if they chose to. They could have cut off aid to the GOSL and/or gone after the LTTE international network. I'm not suggesting either would have been a good thing to do but only pointing out that the third player in the SL conflict - the US led IC - hold all the cards and could have brought about a settlement long ago. But the imperialists are not interested in peace for the sake of peace, their number one interest is power/money. JRJ who brought neo-liberal economics to SL also served to escalate the ethnic conflict to the level of open war. But how could the IC ever slap the hand of a good servent opening up new markets for plunder. |

Only the AstroLTTE has a national question. for me they don't have a question. ONly question is Tamils have no greivances. They are rich selling fish, chilli, bottles and old newspapers, so they are fighting for more.
Any way, one guy warned LTTE. Another guy asked them go and talk about peace.
Any illiterates who can not understand it may go and blow up for eelam.
So what, at least the eelam soild will be fertile for chillie pepper or Tobacco, if the explosion is in Jaffna. |
