Galle i think was won by UNP in the last presidential election or maybe SLFP! Its a close fight between UNP and SLFP and JVP are not near! |

It's the fault of the government of being thinking that the LTTE can be defeated militarilly. Unnecessary offensive measures now has led towards the vast devastation.....
I disagree. The LTTE is not interested in peace. Peace means no more $$$ dividends for the fat cats who are making money off LTTE Inc. No more refugee status and easy life in the west. This is evident from the past where LTTE tried every which way to wriggle out of peace talks. LTTE has to be opposed with the language it understands - military - and attacking their leadership and sources of funding.
There is no point having peace talks because LTTE will continue to kill any Tamil politician who tries to follow the democratic path (which does not agree with their objectives). There can be no meaningful dialogue to address any issues anyway while LTTE follows Eelam goal. 25 years and waiting.
