GOSL must realise occupation of Notheast and Tamil homes for 11 years by evicting the owners is intolerable. On top of it rearming paramilitaries and encourage killing people will spread the crisis beyond those areas. The attitude that Tamils can be killed and and the news can be concealed from the world media cannot last. Though sad Sinhalese also must experience at least a bit of what Tamils go through for last 50 years.
This President came to power with extremist nationalist policy -unitary structure-, unless he realises that Tamils' grievances must be addressed instead of trying to undermine and annihilate their defenders LTTE more of what we all experience will prolong. Tamils will not tolerate returning to the situation that prevailed during 1956 to 1983 where anti-Tamil riots and ferrying Tamils to Northeast were the norm. |

The 2007 SL defense budget is $1.4 billion. A record high. With that of money we can buy more than two hundred A-100 300mm multiple rocket launchers. If only our defense ministers had the brains.
