its not the fact (if) the attack failed or succeeded but the fact that the Tigers had the audacity to attack in the south, and Navy ammunitions port at that.
Just think of the repercussions from this attack, apart from the SLAF bombing Tamils areas for revenge.

The LTTE terrorists launched a suicide attack at the Gall harbour and the Sri Lanka Navy camp Dakshina around 7.45 this morning.

It has been reported that five explosive laden vessels under the guise of fishermen have come for the attack. Three suicide boats were completely destroyed by the Navy whilst the other two exploded themselves at the close proximity to the harbour.

Naval sources said that two Naval Inshore Patrol Craft (IPC's), were severely damaged due to explosions. However, the extent of the damage is yet to be assessed.

The Special Task Force has sent reinforcements to the location and the security in area is beefed up. Police curfew has also been enforced and a counter terrorist operation is under way.

Meanwhile, the Galle- Matara main road is remained closed to facilitate the counter terrorist operation.

According to the available information a sailor has been killed and at least 26 others including civilians have suffered injuries due to the incident. The injured were immediately transferred to the General Hospital Karapitiya.

The situation is now under control and the security forces requests the general public to remain calm and to extend their fullest support to the military officials.

As long as brainwashed child soldieries are there these kind of attacks can be expected.These goons are trained to die when, Oh The Rt.HON Velu ( according to Thieves) kids are safe and sound.

They wanted international attention and they got it in bad way. Failed mission.

They will pull all the strings before the talks to fill the
propaganda pots.

These are desperate attacks by LTTE knowing that such attacks can not weaken the GOSL stance against Terrorism or win the war, but capitalizing on the posibilities of stirring emotions of people and there by instigating retaliation of the Singhalese civillians against the Tamils living in the south.

Sinhalese should exercise extreme restraint on these events. Buddhists priests should take the lead to preach, stop ,an protect Tamils being attacked in the south .

GAHAPANG PUTHA ...GAHAPANG. Beat the hell out of these guys until they submit to Equal treatment of all citizens of this country.
