Sri Lanka experienced worse international pressure soon after 1983 riots, but soon we recovered. This is just another bump. without germany's 37 million we can survive a long.

It may be good because there will be less conversion to christianity with German aid.

I accept your one cent donation. But I have the right to buy whatever I want.

But unfortunatly People in Prabhakaran's rule have no choice. They have become slaves.

Well how long can the Sri Lankans live without their begging bowls being filled by their white masters, 1st Germany next is anyones guess.
Shame on SL to still insist on foreign aid, Singapore has been an independent sovereign nation for a lot less years and has hardly any natural resources than SL but the 2 nations are like chalk and cheese in economic prosperity.

Guys,

Aid- This is the biggest curse of our country. This is the worst weapon foreign powers used to keep Sri Lanka under the clutches of terrorism.

Should Sri Lanka bother about 37 m? Should we anymore surrender our interest for these blood money.

In the Sri Lankan context this is a welcome development. Sri Lanka should find ways to keep this aid Mafia away from our affairs.

Reduce unwanted imports. Increase productivity. Reduce holidays. Educate workers no strike if you love the country.

This is how we Sri Lankan living abroad are keeping the country away from foreign domination.

During the first eight months of 2006 worker remittances have grown at a rate of 24 per cent to US dollars 1,539 million, as compared to US dollars 1,237 million recorded in the corresponding period of 2005.Source - Central bank.

GOSL should tell these foreign foxes we are no more interested in your blood money. We value our country more than your 37 m. Tell Germany Go to hell.

If Germany thinks it can change the course of Sri Lanka with their 37 million euros, they are completely mistaken. we are going to fight for another 10 years as long as LTTE and its blood thirsty tamil supporters are fighting.
