| Sandaman, who's the 'anal-tetentive cat?' also, how do you think it would've been different if 'This extensive process filled with concealed antagonisms and contempt could have been easily avoided by adopting a 'buddhist only' stance, which my parents quite admirably did not' had taken place? positive or negative? Personally, I think it IS important to marry with at least a very similar religion to your own, as it makes things easier for man and wife, and of course, for the kids, in terms of choosing names, holidays, etc. Plus, kids need an identiy. wanting to marry with only your own religion isn't being racist/prejudiced, it's a prefernece, and it can safeguard a lot of things. Plus, you've a right to choose who'll be the mother/father of your child, don't you? Otherwise, it's better to live alone than to marry into another culture for the mere sake of gettign married. Also, did you know there are native, north indian buddhsits in india today? I don't mean the oriental buddhists, but the aryan descendent buddhists? |

LULA,
There is nothing new, only TN Theesan, natives, 4 decade download, London/Canada Tamils, etc repeated 1001 times. Just Moda choon
LULA, there is nothing new; as always has been the case, the Eelamists have no solid arguments to prove why a 'Tamil culture' that originated in Tamil Nadu, but 'native' to its neighbor country Sri Lanka ;-)
A culture is 'native' to where it originated. If Eelamists concede that the Tamil culture originated in Tamil Nadu, then Tamil culture is 'native' to Tamil Nadu, not to Karnataka or England or Sri Lanka or Canada.
Absolutely hilarious to see how he has invented new meanings for the word 'NATIVE'.
It is simply a Moda Choon when LULA redefines 'nativity' and declare even though Tamil culture originated in Tamil Nadu, it is even 'native' to subsequent countries that Tamils later migrated! So, Tamils must be native to England ! Heeyak-Puh!!.
Of course, this is no wonder, when LULA distorts 'Devanampiya Tissa' to 'Theva Nambiya Theesan' ;-) Edited By - GamaRaala - 10 Dec 2006 07:00:48 GMT |

Readers,
(Cc: Shakti,)
Shakti says:
It is only to educate the true students of history, who sees exploring history as an academic excersise.
This is fantastic!
This history lesson comes from the same 'O Level Sinhala D' scholar who inspected the early Sinhala inscriptions and declared that since he, with his O-Level D, could not read the inscription, it could not have been ancient 'Sinhala'!
According to this self-proclaimed 'history lecturer', O-Level D in Sinhala is more than enough to inspect early Sinhala inscriptions!!
This scholar was dumbfounded when pointed out that he could not read Old English as well. Since then, he declared he has no interest in this thread and 'developed a technical fault' asuming readers will forget his suicidal blunders. ;-)
This 'O-Level Sinhala D' scholar publicly showed how pathetic his history knowledge is on 14 Nov 2006 10:26:21 GMT by saying;
Either it (Vallipuram gold inscription) can be a very valuable document produced centuries ago, or it can also be a gimmick produced by interested parties not more than 50 years ago...
This is a classic example of suicidal blunders of this 'O-Level Sinhala D' scholar. The inscription was unearthed in 1936 ie 70 years ago!
Not having even an ounce of knowledge of the inscription, this Scholar says it could be a gimmic produced 'not more than 50 years' ago! :-) :-)
And now, the 'Scholar' is giving lectures to 'history students' on internet forums ;-) Edited By - GamaRaala - 10 Dec 2006 07:19:52 GMT |

by the way bhudda too a hindu by religion!
More rubbish. You should think before you write, rather than publicizing the gaps in your knowledge to the world. The Buddha created and used the Four Noble Truths, to which there is no parallel in hindu teaching, rejected the vedas, refuted the existence of any omnipotent creator god, and most importantly did not venerate cows, ergo he cannot be a hindu.
Revealingly, the contemporary hindu rarely worships the Buddha anyway, their attention is focused on rama and krishna. The reason for the hindu attempt to suborn Buddhism into their religion is the absolute lack of respect and acceptance that hinduism has 'international' (i.e. Western) circles. The average westerner sees nothing more than a cow-worshiping heathen in a hindu, which is reminiscent of the pagans that their ancestors wiped out centuries ago.
By contrast, Buddhism is well established, and accepted as a true world religion throughout academic and social circles the world over. It is this acknowledgment and acceptance that the hindus are attempting to steal for themselves, by publicizing that Buddhism is a part of hinduism, which is a complete falsification. |

Shelly
Do you want to get married to a Singhalese Buddhist or a Buddhist? What is your status in USA? It looks like you have more trouble having a partner despite having lot of generous people around to tell you to follow Buddha. If you have PR or citizen ship get into plane and your goal can be achieved within a week maximum irrespective your appearance.
GOOD LUCK. |
