Dears,
When the Buddhist missionaries arrived in the Island in 'BOAT' , Sinhala language still don't existed. So i don't know what the rubbish Sandman is saying..
The first manuscripts of the Buddhists of Sri lanka are in PALI. Sinhala language and culture so still don't exist at this time !
Anyway, the Sinhala language born in Sri lanka by the contact with the Tamil, which tranformed Pali in Sinhala.. Sinhala's grammar is Tamil grammar's sister.. The INDOLOGISTS and THE SCHOLARS, not the joker of this forum know well that Tamil have the second ANCIANT grammar of this EARTH (Tolkapiyam) after the Sanskrit grammar of Panini.. But Tamils say that their history go back to the last Glacial period, prior to -
9000-12000 B.C.. Their kingdoms and continent were swallowed by succesive 'KADALKOL' (the Tamil word for Tsunami) !
Be not stupid or idiot to don't suggest Tamil culture as anciant as the last age of Ice.. I know, anyone who is A RACIST, or ANTI-TAMIL will NEVER accept this.
What is hard to believe is what we cannot believe ! |

LULA,
I never wanted to bash you again in this thread. But how can I remain silent seeing all these utter nonesense.
The multi ethnic communities that lived in the island (Anuradapura Kingdom) many centuries Before and after the Common Era (BCE), such as the Demadas (Demadas in Prakrit, Damilas in Pali, Demalas in Sinhala and Thamilar in Tamil, they all mean the same), Nagas, Yakkhas (Veddhas), Kabojas, Milakas and many others (NO Sinhalese, unfortunately) were ruled from time to time by the kings from either the SINHALA dynasty created in the island by Vijay (examples: Devanampiya Tissa, DUTTA GAMINI, etc) OR by the South Indian Damila Dynasties such as Cholas, Pandiyans, Cheras, and later Kalingas and Nayakkars, (examples: Elara, Magha, etc) OR by the NAGAS (examples: CHORA NAGA, ILA NAGA, etc) OR by the long standing native Damilas who lived in the island since antiquity (examples: Sena and Guttaka).
Before making these nonesense, at least try to grasp the relationship between your Sinhala Dynasty King Dutta Gamani and the your so called NAGA King Chora Naga.
Do you know who the grand father of your so called NAGA King CHORA NAGA is. Chora Nagas is the son of King Watta Gamani Abhaya aka Walagambahu I. King Walagambahu is the fourth son of King Saddha Thissa, the brother of your SINHALA DYNASTY King Dutta Gamani.
In your logic, may you please explain how a grand son of a SINHALA Dynasty King could beome a NAGA.
BTW, Do you know who King ILA NAGA is. He too is a great, great..grand son of King Dutta Gamani.
Puh..!!

There were many Naga kings mentioned in the Mahavamsa, I just remembered these two names, but most of them were inter-related to the Sinhala dynasty.
Even the Sinhala king PARAKRAMABHU was the grandson of a TAMIL prince. Edited By - LuLa - 28 Nov 2006 02:01:22 GMT |

Ille Ille LULA Ille,
King Pandukabhaya is a Tamil himself. Otherwise, how come his grand son King Theva Nambiya Thesan could become a Tamil.

LULA,
From where did you pick up the name Theva Nambiya Thesan. What is mentioned in all the inscriptions, chronicles etc is about a Devanapiya Tisa. So LULA, from where did it occur to you that Theva Nambiya Theasn has a true meaning in Tamil.
After all Yal Panam and Thirukoneshwaram too have real meanings in Tamil, arn't they?

How about Matta Kalappu? :-) That too has a clear meaning in Tamil. How about Ali Mang Kadai :-)
'Devanampiya' was a title used by King Ashoka. So, this Mouryan 'Theva Nambiya Asoka' must have been a Tamil. ;-)
What does Prof Indrapala say about this 'very clear Tamil meaning'? :-) :-) He could not have missed that. Edited By - GamaRaala - 28 Nov 2006 09:59:25 GMT |
