We tamils lost faith in srilankan government and its security forces,police,judicial system and the rest of it for long time . like 3-4 decades. that is why we are demanding for separate state.
at last this international monitor started to realsie a little. |

Sinhalese people are naive and ignorant and not as clever as the Tamils. Hence they are called Sinhala Moodaiya!!
UR an insult to the Tamil community my friend. May be you do not have any real sinhalese friends in your life..if you want to say anything about the GoSl or its forces it is acceptable but do not involve the sinhalese people..

I agree, as you said, Nationality must be Sri Lanka for all.
Agree..There is actually another issue on the National ID card..they mention Jaffna and when they stop to check in colombo it is an additional burden and looked upon as a terrorist.. |

Sorry, in last 15 years, I am out from SL.
I will check what I had in by BC.
(Its funny to remember, once I had an art teacher (private), he is the person who design 1st ID in Sri Lanka, and he showed me the original art-work. We just talked only about its design, and not the contents!).
I didnt know about content of Tamils (Jaffna),..
Its too bad.
Sinhalese never feel how minorities feel in SL, I agree with that.
But, trust me, I have never met any Sinhala person in my circles talk bad about Tamils, though 'some of' Tamil folks in this forum think all Sinhalese are like that.

trust me, I have never met any Sinhala person in my circles hate Tamils, as some of Tamils think.
I do not think your assumption on Tamils is quite right..I will not use the word Hate!! depends on where you live and whom you move with bro..!
In Hong Kong..there is absolutely nothing bro..life in on the fast track but when we meet at dinners or dances or even sports we are all one bro...We are going to have the Cricket sixes next month and sri lankans will be one big family..
U also must understand the situation the Tamils are in the north & East..they feel the enemy is the GoSl and the forces (unfortunetly both are considered as sinhala dominated entity) and it is natural the tamils have a different feeling towards them..i suppose you might get the same feeling (About Tamils) among sinhalese who live down south..
It is better if you can delete the word Hate and replace it with do not like!

I think regarding the latest fighting in the north:
The SLGovt should only take defensive action and no to any offensive action. Also, only prevention of arms and weapons smuggling by the LTTE. As long as the LTTE doesn't attack troops in the 'government held territory' it is better to ignore these LTTErs. The SLGovt should not send any soldiers to die in vain. These soldiers have a right to live. This is just not right, to send them to die in vain!
Also, it is best to go for talks with the LTTE where the LTTE will have no choice but to accept a power sharing arrangement, devolution etc. and multi-party democracy, no longer the sole representative, relase all child soldiers, stop extortion, stop killing opponents, free movement of all people, unhindered development of the NE etc. etc. Talks are the best place to show that the LTTE is a totalitarian organisation. What other choice will the LTTE have except to accept the above? So the SLGovt should go for talks and stop any offensive action and not let the soldiers die in vain.
These soldiers have families etc. So the govt should not send them into a dangerous situation.
