DBS Jeyaraj, in his article few weeks back has also foreseen the same that gvt is supposed to capture elephant pass before the talks...In fact, people expected the same as well.
berty and others,
when tigers withdrew from Sampur the GOSl calculated that the tigers were weak and could thrust into northern defences too.
they deployed their two best divisions 53 & 55 and expected to just walk over. they got caught in a pincer movement. thats all. |

Yesterday is history... Now hurry up let's go for the round two of blood spilling....
This is why I have been telling for years... LTTE terrorist dogs GROW TEETH... REPEAT... THEY GROW TEETH... EVERY PASSING DAY....
Never postpone taking on them or appeasing them... the longer the wait.... THE HIGHER THE PRICE TAG... for us.
It's an unpleasant, difficult, painful decision but reality is we have to take it.
Dogs will always be dogs. Let's live with it. |

Sri Lanka clashes kill 129 troops
BBC breaking news graphic
At least 129 Sri Lankan army soldiers were killed in fierce fighting with Tamil Tiger rebels on Wednesday close to the northern city of Jaffna.
The army said it had collected 55 bodies, while Tamil Tiger rebels handed over 74 more to the Red Cross.
The toll is the worst the army has suffered in one day since the 2002 ceasefire called a temporary halt to the country's 23-year civil war.
Fighting between the two sides has increased markedly over the past year.
Army spokesman Brigadier Prasad Samarasinghe told BBC News that 283 soldiers had also been injured in fighting that lasted from dawn to dusk on Wednesday.
He confirmed that 78 other troops were missing, and said it was waiting to perform tests on the bodies handed over by the Tamil Tigers.
One soldier was captured alive by the rebels, Brig Samarasinghe said.
The army said that it had killed 200 rebels, although the Tamil Tigers confirmed losing only 10 troops from their side.
Independent confirmation of rebel casualties is impossible to obtain, and both sides in the conflict routinely magnify or minimise casualty figures to their benefit.

Vini bro, how is the day?
If you see photos of dead SLA boys, its clear, they killed not in the FDL, but deep inside LTTE area.
I think, some big mistake in SLA intelligence must create that fate.
SLA, also says 75 was trapped and executed by LTTE. Edited By - sansare - 12 Oct 2006 13:48:01 GMT |

Missing Soldiers Had Valiantly Fought To Counter The Threat To FDL: Tigers Commit The Most Brutal Act In The History
12 Oct 2006 - 17:05
4TH LEAD
JAFFNA: ONE INFANTRY COMPANY TASKED TO NEUTRALIZE a tiger strong point where the tigers were massing troops to launch a harassing attack on troops ahead of the Security Forces? FDL at MUHAMALAI during the retaliatory attacks had been brutally murdered by the tigers after being captured alive yesterday (11) violating all norms and regulations of the Human Rights in the Geneva Convention.
The Security Force sources did not divulge the whereabouts and the endeavors of the Company in destroying the tiger?s forming up place for their offensives against the Security Forces with the intention of maintaining secrecy.
As per soldiers of the same company who had returned after fighting valiantly in the mission exposed that tigers surrounded the company whilst fighting and captured some members alive and taken them to their controlled areas.
Meanwhile, tigers had indicated that they are in the process of handing over 75 dead bodies of Security Forces personnel through the ICRC.
As per Defence sources 78 soldiers had gone missing in this incident.
The previously fabricated stories by the tigers clearly indicate that they were trying to cover up the inhumane act by some of their cadres and to tarnish the image of the Security Forces.
The casualty figures of the Security Forces had risen to 55 soldiers making the supreme sacrifice and 283 soldiers receiving injuries.
Of the minor casualties being treated at PALALY Military Hospital many had returned to their units and some are still being treated there.
Further details of the tigers? brutal act would follow.

oops...! I read it, when Bitter truth, posted about it early.
Why SLA did this blunt move without any back-up plan?

In war these battles and sacrifices are normal...
While saluting all those troops who made the ulimate sacrifice... Sri Lankans should go after those who are reponsible with redoubled resolution...
I only want to ask those who promote peace talks with these criminals who butcher our troops... what sort of hearing they deserve...?
It's a mistake to think that LTTE terrorists would not ceasing dictating terms to the legitimate GOSL.... if not totally eliminated.
Okay... LTTE goons... LTTE terrorists had their day... But ask your self... would not the day of the jackel come?
Proud SLA and GOSL... go for the next stage... target those who are financing the LTTE terrorist dogs... confiscate their properties in SL and send them to the seabed when they arrive for sun and fun. |

Pri,
Major General VINI,
Can you tell me the color of the Jaffna please??? You sound like born and brought up in Jaffna!!
I have been there several times... great place... great Sri Lankans folks... not different from other areas.
This is where SLA HQ (unofficially)already is... But I have also recommended to shift target practice division and white van division to Jaffna.
Extra-ordinary problems need extra-ordinary solutions...
No 'hi' to me? |
