'What more is extremism than blowing some innocent women and children by a suicidal zombie', Waruna how about adding to that; 'expressing sentiments to the effect that christianity was the worst thing to happen on planet earth specially to Sri Lanka'! I do agree with you about Marvin.
However, my understanding is that democratic practice allows non violent protests. Therefore, I cannot see anything wrong in this event.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
I have heard in Ireland Sinn Féin protests by not swearing allegiance to the Queen. I do not know what that means. But I think some kind of insult to the Parliament or Queen. |

President accuses military of murder
In a shocking revelation President Mahinda Rajapakse has informed a TNA delegation which met him last week that he believed that the security forces were involved in the murders of Parliamentarian Joseph Pararajasingham and the five students in Trincomalee.
The President had said the murders were carried out with the intention of causing him embarrassment by forces personnel loyal to the opposition UNP.
The meeting with the TNA MPs, R. Sampanthan, Gajan Ponnambalam, N. Raviraj and Suresh Premachandran took place on Saturday (7).
Associated with the President were Minister Maithripala Sirisena and Secretary Lalith Weeratunga.
The President made this startling revelation when Sampanthan called for action on the murder of TNA Parliamentarian Joseph Pararajasingham and the killing of the five students in Trincomalee. The TNA told the President they were convinced the security forces were responsible for the killings.
The President had also said that Joseph was murdered inside a church to project the impression that he (Rajapakse) was anti-Christian and bring him into disrepute.
He had further said that there was a heavy presence of security forces personnel in the area and that the assassins could not have got away without the help of the security forces personnel.
'There is a systematic effort to discredit me and make me out to be anti-Christian,' Rajapakse had said.
The President had also claimed that he believed that the STF was responsible for the students? murders and that the STF was a unit set up by the UNP. |

| Sambandan is doing all this because he is paid 100,000 rupees a month and provided a Thai prostitute and a packet of viagra once a week by the LTTE using the money sent by the Tamil Diaspora for their 'FREEDOM STRUGGLE'. He is just a rowdy with no brains.Another great 'Leader' of the Tamils. He is good for a cashier's job in a Thosai boutique. |

KEKETEPULIYA, for you to say that Sampanthan is 'a man with no brains' I assume you to have academically and professionally achieved much more than Sampanthan. I am no supporter of Sampanthan but to put it epitaphacally 'give the devil it's due'!! Also as far as I know Sampanthan is a person about 80 years old. Immagine an 80 year old rowdy!!What Sampanthan is supposed to have done is obstructed the path of the Hon.Speaker by standing in the middle. Would that amount to rowdism. Our own MPs and ministers have acted worse. Obviously the Hon.Speaker could not give him a good kick in the crotch! Edited By - kiwikanga - 18 Jan 2006 06:20:33 GMT |

Kiwikanga,
To the best of my knowledge Sampanthan is in his mid seventies and was one of the most successful lawyers from Trincomalee. He had been a member of Parliament for the last 35 years.
I wonder how one would define a rowdy.
If this action is one of the definitions we have a whole heap of people in Parliament including Ministers and deputies.
