Col Banu's statement is very valid. in another decade or 2 more of the tamils will either be dead or wouldve left the country so its in the best interest of the sinhalese to drag the issue. plus the diaspora will have a new generation (born outside the island) which will be less attached to the issues of the island. one of the disadvnatages is that we dont have a big population to start with.
I think belligerent comments like these are been made by the arms dealers to the SLA, SLN and the rent-a-pilot-outfit-they-pass-off-for-an airforce who buy them and try and prosecute the war.

last but not least as you pointed out rule makers shouldnt be rule breakers. I wanted to show your intentions were not only technical in nature but had a bias as well.
