It seems the US is bent on scaring the tigers into submission?
Sadly they're too thick skulled to learn from their mistakes in Vietnam, Korea, Panama and more recently Afghan and Iraq.. It seems even Bush has forgotten his own words of wisdom after his disastrous campaign in Iraq, where he said terrorism cannot be destroyed by force, we must eradicate the root cause of the problems if we're truly to eradicate terrorism effectively..
But it seems even as he speaks one thing, he seems to be engaged in actions quite to the contrary..
Sadly when we're unable to solve our problems, there's little point blaming others.
Looking at Palestine today and the fate of Arafat, will Prabha fall for the same gimmicks, and like Arafat will he too be trapped into peace talks until his end, while the Tamils gain nothing?? Today Palestine has lost its power, and it's military strength, only to be ruled by Israel and abused at it's convenience.. Is this going to be the fate of the Tamils in Northeast as well..
We the Tamils cannot afford to loose our military strength, Our destiny is our own, and we have to fight for our rights ourselves.. We can only trust ourselves!

| The source is a USAF Airforce official; the LATRIN system being supplied is ex-USAF supply from a couple of retired F-16CG (Block 40) .. this item of news will soon be released into the public arena by International news networks .. |

World won't allow hostilities in Sri Lanka: Indian Army chief

The international community will not allow hostilities to break out between Sri Lanka's Tamil Tiger rebels and government forces, India's army chief said here Friday.
'I personally feel the world would not be encouraging active hostilities in any part of the globe,' Gen. J.J. Singh told a news conference ahead of Army Day that is observed Jan 15.
'The LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam) will be pressurised to continue on the route of dialogue and find a peaceful solution (to the crisis),' Singh said in response to a question whether he expected war to break out in the island.
A Norway-brokered ceasefire in Sri Lanka is currently under great strain after a string of attacks on the armed forces by the Tamil Tigers left around 70 military personnel dead since the start of December.
The chief of the Indian Army's Southern Command, Lt. Gen. B.S. Thakkar, last month visited strategic areas in Sri Lanka's north beyond which lie areas held by the LTTE.
Singh noted that the Indian government too was monitoring the situation in Sri Lanka and would want to ensure that 'the outbreak of hostilities is avoided'.

| SLAF Kfir pilots have been receiving extensive air combat training in the US and Israel recently on ex IAF Kfir C1/C2 on using the LATRIN system .. The reason the SLAF has decided to increase the size of its Kfir fleet is primarily due to its unwillingness in relying on Ukrainian Mig-27 pilots for its future offensive missions.. |

And that is stil my view .. The posting dear Sir that you have kindly retrieved is indeed inline with my earlier stand.. there is nothing new in this ..
I personally believe the LTTE has not got the SL Thamils best interest at heart.. this organization is governed by a truly brilliant and ingenious leader, who however at the current moment is consumed with illusions of immortality and power..

Why is the LTTE insisting this war be won in their leaders lifetime.. this to me indicates the vanity involved in the LTTE leaders approach .. his wish is to create Tiger Eelam .. not Thamil Eelam.. where he wishes to be revered as a God like figure, and his family paid the respects endowed on Aristocracy .. his wish is to enslave the thamil people .. This is my opinion :o) .. But once again .. you may disagree.. your entitled too ..

As I have previously posted .. this conflict will see no end if the war does start .. The SLAF is being primed to reek considerable destruction on LTTE areas .. the De facto State will be leveled .. is the LTTE prepared for this?? Are they prepared to lose everthing the've built for the last 3 years?? And are they prepared to answer for the intense suffering it will lay on an already exhausted and scarred people??? The Thamil people deserve a just peace .. don't let one mans obsessive ambition lead the thamil The Thamil people further down the road of suffering .. the fact is V Pirapaharan has invested heavily in this conflict, his pride will prevent him from seeing the light.. Don't let this blind the rest of you..
I hope both the Thamil and Sinhalease readers on this forum appreciate this ..
I wish to end todays discussion with that thought

I would like to pose a question to the Srilankan thamil individuals online (pro LTTE/LTTE sympathetic/Pro GOSL/GOSL sympathetic) .. ' Do you have any desire to be associated as a SriLankan in the future.. if hypothetically the GOSL was to grant a fair federal alternative similar to the Indian model .. Would you accept it ?? '
- Note - What a strange feeling .. I have an entire discussion thread to myself :o) .. It appears several individuals are refusing to talk to me which I personally find hilarious.. |
