You wait and see if LTTE is getting stronger or weaker. But if we go by past experiences, you are wrong.
Give us one reason why LTTE must lay down arms? LTTE took up arms to stop GOSL ethnic cleansing Northeast. LTTE took up arms to stop pogroms directed against Tamils. LTTE took up arms to force the GOSL to negotiate a political settlement of the ethnic conflict.
First two has stopped now, as you know there were no riots on a mass scale as happened in 1956, 58,68,77 and 79. UN and International Community want GOSL and LTTE to talk peace. They can only appeal to both parties to talk or threaten withholding aid.
If LTTE lay down arms the GOSL will instigate riots and will not negotiate as some Tamil poodles can be bought with bribes or ministerial posts. This is the state of affairs prevailed before 1983. We do not want to go back to pre 83 era. I know why you want pre-83 period. You can enslave minorities. You can do anything with them. Who can question you heartless barbarians? Did you stop the riots that took place frequently? |
