TRO, US and us

Ambassador Jeffrey Lunstead has said the US lacks evidence to take action against the LTTE front TRO raising funds for war in Sri Lanka. What has happened to America' We thought it was well informed of global terrorism or at least compared notes with Britain on vital matters such as terrorism and terrorist fund raising. The UK has removed the TRO from its Charity List and it is intriguing why the US is not aware of the reason why the UK has done so.
The US should have been more alert at least after the LTTE topped the UN`s List of Shame because of its child conscriptions and the TRO sent out appeals across the globe for assistance to the Katrina victims. Isn`t it in America`s interest to ascertain how much is being raised in the name of hurricane hit Americans and where the money is really going'
When tsunami pummelled Sri Lanka and aid came pouring in, it should be recalled, the government came under pressure to effect close monitoring. America should do likewise without leaving room for terrorist fronts to exploit the tragedy of Americans.
Where are the CIA and the panoply of intelligence services which acquired enough information to trace Saddam Hussein to his spider hole and know, so to speak, what`s happening in Castro`s bedroom or what Kim Il Sung is having for dinner.
The US, on the other hand, knows the chemicals in the soil on Mars and is unravelling mysteries of the universe. It is probing the depths of the ocean and cracking genetic codes like bean pods. But it lacks information about terror fronts funding wars in friendly countries!
It cannot be lack of evidence but lack of interest that prevents the US from taking action against terror fronts operating in its soil to wreak havoc on other nations as they are under control and pose no threat to its security interests. The US thought of Al Quaeda as well the same way some years ago!
How can the world powers call their pursuit of `their terrorists` a global anti terror drive while steering clear of the terrorists of other nations' Their downright duplicity stinks to high heaven.

Are we exporting pachagandists to do electioneering in other countries' Or is it that the propagandists in those countries are taking private tuition through e-learning from their Sri Lankan counterparts on how to run election campaigns' Else, how can they stoop to such low levels just like here'
Yesterday, we frontpaged a photograph of a billboard in Berlin with a disfigured picture of Angela Merkel, top candidate for Chancellor. Her slogan `A New beginning` had been altered to read `A New Flop.`

These days, at home, we are being treated to a poster ridiculing the Opposition Leader Ranil Wickemesinghe. Those who put it up must be patting themselves on one another`s back, thinking that they have done a good job, but it has only left a bad taste in the public mouth and exposed their political bankruptcy.
Such scurrilous posters, as we have pointed out earlier, are counterproductive: a negative campaign seldom yields positive results. In some parts of the city, the posters promoting Prime Minister Rajapakse have been disfigured with defamatory slogans scrawled across them. These are the nascent stages of a mega poster war that we will witness as the campaign hots up, though posters in public places amount to a violation of the election laws. Who cares for the laws in this country' We are Sri Lankans, aren`t we'
The Colombo Municipal Council has a potent weapon with which to deal with the poster problem very effectively. A few years ago, it cleared the wayside walls of posters with its Poster Buster machine, which takes only a few minutes to undo what `Poster Masters` take one whole night to do. It costs the CMC only a few litres of diesel and some water. Why isn`t it being used any more' Time was when the police themselves applied kalu thel on election posters, but they appear to have abandoned that practice.
Back to Berlin, we are a bit puzzled. Whoever meddled with Merkel`s billboard doesn`t seem to be a true German. For, a real Deutscher would have scribbled not `Flop` but something like `Reinfall`. Was there an English hand behind the billboard' A conspiracy'

The TRO, US & us.
At the present moment the TRO is the only relief organisation, that can help the US & SL, in providing the best facilities, for:
Latrina / Rita, in the US & for ever & ever in SL.
The TRO is manned by a dedicated, very honourable staff, whose only desire is to provide the refugees in their care the best.
The TRO, should be encouraged to keep growing & growing. |

Singhalese are mad sad and bad ,and they are the jelious creature in earth. they cannot stand tamil.
TRO is a relief organisation started by tamils to mainly help tamils. Prabaharan urged tamils that you cannot rely on anyone else for anything. you must start a own charity organisation, you start own business,
the main reson this TRO was started to cut operational costs.
in a speach anton balasingham once quoted that this western counries charityies are druming up that they are helping people of srilanka , but if we asked the people here they say only thing they received was a plastics plates and a mat, which is worth only around Rs 100 , 200 rupees. but this officials are riding on a $100,000 dollar jeeps and damaging the roads.
this is the only reson Tamils set up the TRO organisations. many tamils in westen countries help srilanka through this western charity but one 5pence in every one pound actually reach the people. at leaset if tamils help through TRO that alone is enough to look after tamils.
if TRO wasnt there in tsunami tamils would have suffered much worsely.
to date Singhala governments have not build a single house for tamils.
with TRO 75% of the money actually reach to people and singhalese cannot stand to that.

Organisation like TRO should be encouraged , and in no doubt Chandrika realised that after tsunami. western charities collected the money using Tsunami pictures in srilankan and else. and now bullying governments that they must do that and this or they will pull out this projects. and all this charities collected billions of dollars and not million spend in coutry.
same time organisation like TRO collected say a million dollars and they have executed programs for millions and helped 100s of thousand peoples.
gave boats to fisherman,build temprory houses and so on.
TRO recived recognition award from srilankan president of srilanka. baning organisation like this is bad for srilanka. even if there is large flood in south TRO may help more than what western countries charities. |
