NPC wants probe into LTTE abduction of policeman

Ranjith Abeysuriya PC, Chairmen, National Police Commission has asked for an inquiry into the alleged detention of three police officers; Sub inspector Bopitigama, Police Constable Hemantha and Constable Sarath who were engaged in lawful discharge of their duties when they were taken into custody in the Murunkan area on September 9.
He requested Hegrup Haukland, Head of the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission to take the necessary action into this matter and arrange the earliest possible release of these three officers.
