Dear Newbie,
The Co-chairs will definitely ask LTTE to give up their arms once the federal system is fully established in Northeast and Northwest within the soverignty of
Sri Lanka.
I wish to remind you that the Tamils led by LTTE will
definitely obtain their full autonomy in their homeland with or without the help of western countries and United Nation.
So the forthcoming election has nothing to do with the
determination of Tamils to have their own administration in Northeast and Northwest and corrupted government in south can not do any good administration in the homeland of Tamils.
However, sinhalese can learn good management from Tamils once the federal system is established and they will help Sinhalese to run a good government.
Blocking completely the tsunami aid sharing help offered by co-chairs ,giving full material and financial helps to Karuna groupe won't stop Mr.Prabhakaran from achiving his last but well determined federal system as expected by CO-Chairs. |

Ratna,
If LTTE is disarmed we go back 22 years in history to the state of affairs prevailed from 1956 till 1983. The communal riots will be organised to massacre Tamil and Muslims and ship them to Northeast. Is that what you want?
If Sri Lankan leaders wanted to solve this ethnic problem they would have done it during those 30 years. Even if the government wanted, the extremists, Buddhist fundamentalists will sabotage as they did in 1958 and 1968 with B-C Pact and S-C Pact respectively. They use riots as their weapon to force the democratically elected governments to jettison any agreement made with minorities.
That's why international community(IC) insist on GoSL and LTTE negotiate a peaceful settlement based on Oslo agreement.
Extremists on both sides blame each other for the stalemate that's IC, as common to both sides suggest a way out. |

| Could all the critics of Federalism or any form of devolution suggest a viable alternative other than genocide?.We need to solve this problem if the nation is to have a future.Mahinda who presented the PTOM's in Parliament has made a U turn to please the more radical elements with his eye on the Presidency. He clearly has no solution to the problem and is in the company of the war mongers.Ranil is the only candidate who has the strength of character and a vision to solve the problem, the CFA was only the first step. |

Saintclair:
Personally I would agree with the federal solution within the sovereignty of Sri Lanka. But as a prerequisite LTTE should give up their arms and prove to world that they are no longer a terrorist group. LTTE may be good at in administration, management or whatever but you won?t find any solution by force without getting mandate of other people.
This reality is you won?t get anything from the politician living in south since they can?t declare any federal solution without the consent of Sri Lankan. |

YAMUNAL:
Genocide is LTTE's solution if they do not get what they want and not of the southerners. Any kind of solution should be arranged after a round tsble discussions of with all the tamil parties concerned and not only LTTE, other ethnic groups (open discusion among mostly scholars, interested groups and politicians).
LTTE is armed and killing contnuing it becomes threatening for a solution.LET them disarm just like other groups. |

Hi
federal solution is a carrot, eelam is a stick.
would you like a carrot or a stick?
if federal solution to the ethnic conflict need a sinhala people's mandate then they clearly wants a stick which does not require the sinhala people's mandate. |

| All these western powers wanted Sri lanka army to disarm Kuruna and hand over the east to LTTE again.what is the main reason for these interests.No1 is to destabilize the region (India).NO 2 is to get all the natural resources including oil(because Norwegians have discovered some oil field in the east region sea). Our geologist can verify this if they are capable. |
