Every economic theory bring up by economists (world economist) have proved wrong after sometime, and they will come up with new theories to work on the new problems come up with their earlier theories.

All the policies depend on these theroies also have proved that policies are not correct, that's why we still have economic problems with our (all countries, includeing developed and 'developing' ) countries.

If not the wealth and the intelectuals own by developed countries should not have any problem by this time. The time frame is more than enough to have utopia for them. This doesn't mean we have to ignore all intelectual development, but we have to change all new theories according to our social, cultural, economic, religious, etc value system. Even our social, cultural, economic, religious etc. values also should be change for a bettement of our citizens without giveing any special consideration to any ethnic group.

Not even a million years we live we can not solve all this problems, but we can find a better way to deal with our problem if our leaders (who ever get those positions, because you, they, or I will be in those position some day, you never know) develop their wisdom. In other words, we individually must develop our own wisdom, rather than pointing others they don't have wisdom to solve our problems.

Some one talked about capabilities of Bandula. I personnely beleive most of finance ministers in srilanka don't have knowledg to challenge Bandula's knowledge of economics. That is why Mahinda also went to his house and invited Bandula to support him and offered finance minister if he is elected.

He mentioned last week that when he was young, as others he has revolutionary ides about economy and wanted a closed economy what JVP proposed. But later when he matured, he opted for an open economy because it generate more jobs and more impact on the economy.

But there are good and bad on both.

Ksama,
Unfortunately your facts are not printed in Sinhala texts. That is the trouble with Bandula Gunawardene.
Last year Mr Gunawardene attended a TV debate on behalf of UNP. Prof Jagath Wickramasinghe (Head Economics SJU) represented SLFP. The topic was economic reforms.

Bandula had loads of books with him and put forward his arguments as usual. When the time came for the Prof Wicramasinghe to speak, he pointed out the text referred by Bandula was written by himself. (Bandula agreed with a broad smile...that was his polly..to attack Prof with Prof's own book!!)
Then Prof showed another book written by him, a later published one criticizing his own book!! Then Prof Wickramasinghe told the audience what Ksama tells us here..changing nature of economic theories!! It was a great educational experience for non-economists like me!!

Bandula...Hmmm he was giving his silly smile and try to understand what Prof Wickramasinge wrote in his second book...(which was in ENGLISH).

So much so for Bandula's economics!!

MAGHA:

Thanks for your concern. Unfortunately, I am still waiting for an answer. All the blokes wrote to this thread are very selfish. They do not bother about answering my innocent genuine question. They all turned away from me as if I am asking for a FREE HELICOPTER RIDE. Selfish people, you know. What I asked all is How many ways are there to Escape a Tsunami.

Bandula's economic knowledge is good only for teaching...he has no idea of how to implement them in a country...just like GLP...knowledge limited to the books...now best thing is once this election is over bandula please go back and start up your tution business again and GLP go and do some clerical stuff...coz your brain is good for nothing...
