Maninder, Buddhism will continue to be given foremost position in the Sri Lankan constitution and there is absoultely NOTHING you can do about it. Oh wait, you could bite into a cyanide capsule, strap on a suicide kit and blow yourself into a million pieces. You can also bring out all your supporters and run around like rabid dogs screaming and whining but nothings going to change.
You better best accept it :-)
Once again, classy replies by Ven. Ellawela Medananda Thera. I'm glad the Sunday Times interviewed the JHU and got their opinions.
It's wonderful and funny to see all those people who were screeching like banshees about the JHU getting a good hard slap across their ugly little faces. 'A passing phenomenon' they said and now the Prime Minister has signed an agreement with them and acknowledged their position. Haha!
I so want to see the faces of all the JHU's haters - I bet they are beetroot red! LOL
And Magha, you can cry and whine too. But Poya days are going to stay and there is nothing you can do about it either. The Buddhists enjoyed Poya holidays before the colonials arrived and TOOK THAT RIGHT AWAY. You think they are going to have their rights taken away again? Get real.
I see you are angry and have a lot of hatred towards the JHU. So much black blood boiling inside of you.....so sad Magha, so sad. I sense that this interview has given you a resounding SMACK across your face and the sting is still remaining because you have for a long time been trying to put mud on the JHU and act like a complete jackass.
Whether you like it or not the JHU was voted into power in a democratic election and they are part of the political process in Sri Lanka.
And once again I'd like to shove this fact in your face Magha: Buddhism will always have foremost position in the Sri Lankan constitution. You can have a heart attack and rant and rave like a lunatic but it ain't going to change.
So deal with it.
Cheers! |

JHU spell out their stand: We want people of all races and religions to live together.
JHU, a political party led by Buddhist monks in Sri Lanka told The Sunday Times in an interview that the 12-point memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by them with PM relates to issues common to all Sri Lankans, based on the Buddhist philosophy of compassion and peaceful coexistence and that the party was not a 'fundamentalist' organization.

Pretty impressive Ven.Ellawala Medananda thero...well said...hope JHU will continue to act according to their words...
but i still have an unclear area about the connection between JHU and UNP...we very well remember what happened during the parliament elections to appoint the speaker...but on the other hand i very well know that there are extremely good monks in JHU who have done vast amount of work towards the public as well as towards Buddhism...and at the same time there are some culprits like Udaya gammanpila ...and also i doubt the genuineness of Ven Uduwe Dhammaloka thero...

Whatever these monks said will make the Sinhala Buddhist fundamentalists very happy. Most of these guys live in the western world, and enjoy the freedom of speech, press freedom, and most of all the religion free politics; yet, they praise and congratulate these uncultured and destructive monks.
What can one say about those who elected them; what a sad state of affairs! One thing for sure, there will never be peace until the Sinhala polity deal with the Sinhala Buddhism fundamentalism. The Tamil nationalism will sort itself out, as it is just a reactionary one that is not rooted to any religious ideology.
I see no difference between the most hated Islamic fundamentalists and these idiot monks, and along with their supporters. The LTTE are the direct result of these morons. As I said before many times that Buddhism is a very respectable religion that appeals to people from around the globe; why are these people complicating it with Sinhala and Sri Lanka? |

The JHU and JVP together represent everything that's wrong with Sri Lanka. These so-called 'patriots' give purpose to the existence of the LTTE, and add fuel to the fire. I guess as long as we continue to 'Democratically' elect such extreme radicals as the JVP/JHU, there's no point complaining about the LTTE or their supporters.
But the next time a war breaks out let these JVP/JHU monkies do the fighting, after all they're for a united Sri Lanka, and it's only fair they lead the way there. |

It's why Tamils are fighting for an Eelam without Buddhism's favoritism in his constitution ! And nobody will arrest us !

Ha, Ha,
You need to poke them in the right place for them to puke their extremism and fundamentalism out.
Sender,
You moron, did you know that Sri Lanka has the highest number of Public holidays and most of them are Buddhist holidays and half of the year Sri Lankans do not work? So after you beat your drum loud demonstrating the extremism and fundamentalism on behalf of JHU go find a little shade and sleep whilst the other nations in Asia will work hard and develop their countries.

JHU not fundamentalist?
Is it a party of saints who strictly follow the teachings of Lord Buddha?
Is it a party that promotes peace and understanding between the communities?
Is it a party that is only involved in propagating the teachings of Lord Buddha?
I was mistaken. I thought they were a bunch of warmongering Sinhala racist ar..ho..s. |

The JHU, apart from being fundamentalists desperately want to become bigamists.
The Mitshubishi Pajero's, they can seat 7.
A minimum of 5 wives, the abitha's. who on earth can live on bread & halmassos every day.
The time is now ripe for the Yak jo's to become realistic.
