The government strongly opposes overseas tours for the LTTE accused of assassinating Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar.
Highly placed officials said that the government would resist attempts to arrange overseas visits for LTTE delegations on the pretext of study tours.
A senior official claimed that the LTTE and its local and international backers were in the process of arranging an overseas visit on an urgent basis in the aftermath of the assassination. The government believes that no further concessions should be given to the LTTE unless it denounced any form of violence.
President Chandrika Kumaratunga in her speeches at the Asia Society in New York and the United Nations General Assembly accused the LTTE of assassinating Kadirgamar. Foreign Secretary H. M. G. B Palihakkara, Peace Secretariat chief Ambassador Jayantha Dhanapala and Ambassador Bernard Goonetillke based in Washington, too, had blamed the LTTE.
The government also expects the UK to take meaningful steps to curb LTTE activity, particularly high profile status of London ? based LTTE theoretician Anton Balasingham.
European and Scandinavian countries organised a series of overseas tours over the past three years for LTTE delegations, most of which were led by their political wing leader S. P. Thamilselvan.

This was long overdue.
LTTE proved that they
not trust worthy at all
just VIPERS.
Their actions proved,
they don't want
to be leaders, Instead they
like to be cheaters
because they are, in nature,
bank robbers and street thugs.
They are DUMB horses, always
stand looking at the same
direction.

| All I can see that the singalese government doesn't want to solve the problem. The growing distance between the govt and Ltte will end up with the war very soon. |

LTTE did not use the opportunity for 3 years. Why should GOSL wait indefinitely until LTTE understand one day that they are stupid and becuase they are threatening us with war.
18 million people are suffering because of LTTE. Is it worth?.
Besides, USA says we should look after our problesm. That means, we have to check LTTE.
Other reports say, they are getting ready for another kill But that is not news, becuase that is how they are). But they are getting ready for big ones.

| LTTE are not strong enough to start a war. They can only do small attacks by invading secretly. They can't face a direct war. Otherwise they will start another war long time ago. They are pretending that they are ready for a war. I will bet this. They will never come to war for the moment. They may continue unofficial war they are doing now. |

How a tyranic govt. can accuse without REAL proofs ?
ACCUSATION IS GOOD, BUT REALITY IS BETTER !
If they have it, which are they ?
Do not some body see something strange here ?
IT seems that GOSL can accuse every body without serious proofs ! |

If government oppose tours of LTTE this should be applied even for the Sri Lankan government.
Equal rights of freedom should be respected.
One treatment for banda's familly and and another treatment for Prabhakaran can not be accepted by international communities.
Everybody should be respected according to the international law but not certainly Sri lankan law. |

Mrs.CBK starts talking federal system in front of the interntional communities and at the same she talks against LTTE.
She should understand that she can't get her nobel prize for peace in Sri Lanka and it is too late.
There is nothing for her from OSLO Nobel Peace Bureau.
Having ruled and ruined this country for the last 15 years
by introducing four general elections within 4 years now she is,without any shame, looking for federal system at the last moment and she knows that she can't even go to the parlement at this stage.
Too late
Mrs.CBK for your nobel prize. |
