well said,as you know, the lankan history has been going for a long time in this forum.

at one stage mucha asked an other member called kural on this forum to provide archaeological evidence for Tamil presence in lanka before the arrival of vijan,

history is a history,it should not be tampered to make it comfortable to our selves.
thats what mucha has been trying to do all these days.

KSAMA:

Thanks for your comments to my friend SHAN, though I cannot agree with the logic you put together about having peace in mind. Not a major issue. But I cannot agree with the following.

Quote:
There is no wrong if you beleive something 'wrong' as far as your mind is in peace and as far as that beleif doesn't harm the others.

I have heard things similar to this from drug addicts.

-Muchalinda

PS: I do not want any comments in this regards. But just think about that.

KANTHUN:

What you said about Mahaththaya is pretty much the same you said earlier. Do not worry about that. In fact, it stucked in my memory (ROM) since it is the first ever post I publish here. At the time (Mar 2005, I guess) I appeared here as Muchalinda (with no hyphens in between).

Cheers.

TIGRESS 19:

Dear, thanks for your concern over the topic. But don't waste your time if you cannot agree (or disprove) the conditions I set up. As I said previously, there exist no point discussing ASTRO-PHYSICS with someone who still believes earth is flat.

Cheers.

Love

My dear, dear Muchalinda,
You are the same like my second son. He is intelligent to understand the 'truth' but he always wants the last word. No harm in it.
It is like with ' complete understanding' you pretend you think others don't have enough brain to understand what you say.
We call that is 'Mana', one of the last fretters of 10 fetters of ordinary people. Only those achieve the 'arahntship' are lack of it.
So you are in a higher state than others, but still have a fretter with you to work on it. (I am not saying I have no 10 fetters, but I see most of them within me and want to work on them, i mean to get rid of them).

As you say, I hope no one would come back to argue again, except everybody gives a last chance to you ,my dearest second Koluwa. Anyway, I believe you are an intelligent person and many others too.

Have a nice day, Putha.

Dear KSAMA:

It is absoultely nice to see someone treating me as her own son. But dear KSAMA, I never meant what you said is wrong. I just wanted to highlight what you said (about peace of mind) is not universally applicable and wanted you to think about that and never expected a comment.

As a 'pruthagjana', I too have definetely possessed with Mana and there should not be any doubt about that. But I cannot help adopting such a technique because of the way these people argue. What can you say when someone argues those centuries old inscriptions are things planted by JHU monks to hide the great Chola Knigdom existed in SL.

Anyway, I am also a second son of my family and my Amma also thinks about the world pretty much the same way you do. So this must be the nature of the second sons when mothers think in this particular way.

Budu Saranai.

Munchalinda,

I have been away for two weeks, and come back to find that this debate is still active, astonishing to say the least!

I paid a visit to Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Singapore; the contrasts in terms of infrastructure, prosperity, standard of living were manifestly obvious. It is very difficult to digest the fact the Sri Lanka gained independence years before both Malaysia and Singapore.

What Sri Lanka has got to show for? May be glorified Sihala Buddhism and militant rebellions.

My cousin who was born and bred in Singapore, very proudly claims that she is a Singaporean; do you know why she is able to do that?

When I visited Malaysia, the tour guide was a Malaysian born Indian, and he was very proud of being a Malaysian.

So, now, ask yourself why the minorities in Sri Lanka are finding themselves excluded? Please tap into your educated brain, and ask why. Your glorified Buddhism and the manufactured rich Sinhala history is doing much harm to the race relation. Buddhism is a very respectable religion; please let it be; do not complicate it with Sinhala and Sri Lanka.

All,

Even though I'm not an active commentator in this forum nowadays, I certainly read the comments.
As far as this topic is concerned I admire SHANs comments/arguments. I think this Mucha guy is one of the by products of the IT inventions - CUT & PASTE!
BTW, Mucha tell your grandfather, reading the prescription is the drugs store clerk?s job not his, that's why he couldn't understand. Same way, please ask him NOT to read inscriptions, that is professional?s job! People like him made SL country a bad place on earth by choosing wrong professions. Same like JHU and JVP!
During this discussions I learned a lot about SL?s history, some interesting new information but most of them tired old arguments repeated here just to fill up the space (thanks for the cut & paste tech.- not to Bill Gates but I guess guys at Xerox PARC Palo Alto Research Center) mostly by Mucha guy!

SHAN,
My personal advice to you is, don?t waste your precious time in answering these ?crapy? arguments, but spend that energy in helping the Tamils achieve their goals!
