eeswaram temples are the strong evidence for tamil presence in lanka long before RAMAYANA EPISODE.
ONCE LORD RAMAN FOUND SITHA ,THEY WENT TO MUNNESWARAM (NEAR SILAPAM) TO DO A SPECIAL POOJA BEFORE THEY LEAVE TO INDIA.
SHAN IT IS VERY CRYSTAL CLEAR VIJAN CAME FROM INDIA TO LANKA AFTER THESE TEMPLES WERE BUILT.
THERE IS NO NEED TO ARGUE ANY MORE ,IF MUCHA NEED MORE CLARIFICATION ABOUT THESE,IF I WAS YOU I WILL DO A PASTING JOB FROM THE SITE I QUOTED TO YOU.

The question of Iswarams's presence 2000 years ago can be prooved by the Greek and Roman Literatures....(as Sinhalas want not trust Tamils, i think now they are forced to trust the Europeans, and Chineses... if not they are really fools and blind...) |

I am more than happy to continue our discussion on ethnicity of Sri Lanka (and other issues like Ishwaran Temples and Veddas of Sri Lanka), but NOT with someone who does NOT have COURAGE and DECENCY to admit the above 4 statements (REFER TO MY PREVIOUS POST) are wrong.

| WOW.. I see the Singhala vs Tamil bashing is still continuing.. It's nice to see some newbies take center stage.. allthough the voices are new, the message is still the same.. I think you guys should wake up and take a trip up north to see the reality.. Nobody cares who came to Sri Lanka first or who's been here longer, Nobody is willing to fight a war over the interpretation of our past.. What we have today is a political problem, where selfish predators from both sides are using a dying and worn out ethnic issuse to stuff thier own coffers. The people of both sides (the comman man) are more than willing to share what they have, and do what is necessary to live in peace with eachother.. again take a trip up north: as you go further and further u'll see that the distinction between a singhalese and tamil is no so evident, what is evident is the distinction between the poor and poorer, poverty has settled in most places and ppl don't care about whatyourinterpretation of history is or what the official language of Sri Lanka is, nor do they care about the glorious golden era of the Chola kingdom or the great civilization that existed in Anuradhapura hundreds of years ago.. they only know one thing, that's poverty and hardship.. you give them a dollar and they'll wholeheartedly bless you whetheryourTamil or Sinhala, you give them ten dollars and you become their new found hope, that my friends is the truth (and that's what you don't see in the popular media). So realize that you and i can debate over who's superior sitting in our cozy chairs, but the hard-truth is neither one of us is, b-cuz we couldn't solve this simple problem for over 5 decades, and those who are really worse off, and those who're fighting this war, don't even get a say in this debate. |

What happened to you..haven't seen you for a while. If you can remember, my first ever post in this forum was directed to you. More precisely, if you can recall, that is the one in which I asked you whether Mahaththaya is also a TRAITOR of Tamil.

I am so sorry. I haven't noticed your posting and that's why I didn't reply to you.
I have to go through all the posting after 18th or 20 th page and have to gather the facts of the discussions. It takes time and I have lots on my plate right now.
I will try to read all posting under this heading after your reply to me, and try to give you a reasonable answer.
Sorry again, I missed that posting.

To say tamil was not there in india or sri lanka or that whole region at the beginning of our civilization, and then talk about a script that was written five hundred years ago by a foreign monk about sri lamkan history that talks about an alien species ie. an interbreed (of human and lions), should be a passing cloud in our history of sri lanka.
the invaders (ie. kalla thonies) of tamil land (wijayan and the bengalies)found themselves naked in the presence of a civilized tamil nation, grabbed some linen (sarong) to cover them selves to hide their animal/lion halfbreed.
now, having said this tamil thinking, i have to confront the tamil historians about another people (other than the tamils in our country) who have lived there as long as the tamils, who did not speak singhala at that time. the fact remains that they were not tamils. if they were not tamils then they were the present day singhalese.
but, the old glory should be restored. that is the glory of the native singhalese and the tamils. the strong foot being established in the northeast will, one day, bring back this glory.
how many singhala words are there in tamil? none!
how many tamil words are there in chingalam? .............
now draw your own conclusions.
now! the most convincing argument to date!
if the invaders were spotted as kallathonies, then, those spotters were tamil speaking. these spoteers spoke the language of their land. and the language of the land was tamil. kallathony is tamil and was referred to those bengalis.
now you know why the ltte speaks with their gun and not the mouth?
can you believe that the sri lankan govt accused the ltte of smuggling guns and told the world that the guns were floating after the ltte ship drowned
this is the kind of history the singhalese have. for how long?????????????

The history of sri lanka, Inia and Pakistan I have learnt only in my A/L. So I am very poor in that field, so I can not contribute much to the forum.
I know you get furious with people when you don't get expected answers or when people evading your arguments.
I can't help it, because of the lack of my knowledge of history.
But I know this.
Yesterday was a history
Tomarrow will be a mistery
but today is a present
that's why we call it PRESENT.
