Royal College is the Pride of our Multi cultural, Multi racial and Multi religious country.
The above sinhala verses are the College Anthem of Royal College in Singhala which I too have sung at the school assembly, to the tune of Hewisi band.

Dear KURAL:
I do not want to dig deep into what you said because the source of the information seemed to be very reliable. Anyway just note that finding a statue occasionally does not make an established Tamil civilisation in the country. FYI: Some archelogists have even unearthed certain Roman coins depicting Christian symbols near Sigiriya. Should this mean that Sigiriya was built by Christians or any thing similar to that.
BTW, I would like to finish off our discussion on the Identity of King Pandukhabaya first, before wasting time on the things you mentioned.

I do not know what the word Multi Cultural, Multi racial, Multi religious etc mean to you. I also do not have any problems about identifying the work done by Royal College at its due place.
However, if you say that it was the British who taught us how to co-exist with other races, that is utter nonesense. In fact, they are the people who destroyed that. Royal College could be proud of itself for many other things, but not for establishing multi culturalism in the island for the first time. On your next visit to Kandy, please do not forget to put some coins into the tills of Sathara Devalas surrounding Dalada Maligawa.

Sorry guys...OUT OF THE TOPIC---
Kural,
you should understand that, just like pro LTTEers we do not need to show the number who are in support of the govt...cos it is a country with more than 20 mn population and abt 99% of it being against the LTTE terrorism...so we do not want to fall in to your level of mentality and sign-in in multiple user IDs...
and another thing is we had to use those words during those period as some pro LTTEers were even went to the extent of using filth language against the general sri lankans...
as a last note...now it is without any doubt clear that same Tamilboy has appeared as tigress...it is soo sad if you had some hope about the tigress as you two were really matching and we saw some love letters being exchanged between you two...we really understand your disappointment ...as tigress once said that she/he likes kural and some others...so it is soo sad even for us to bring down your future hopes...ultimately you have had your hopes on a proLTTE male ...too bad buddy...

Correction please,
'Alma Mater' better cultured, young man.
Please do not talk about the british and nonsense when I have not spoken anything about politics with you.
I am aware that you are a scholar in political science etc.
Issue of our Alma Mater is because there was something that popped up in sinhala that mostly No ONE understands.
I did identify myself with these verses and I had every right to claim that and also proclaim what my school means to me.
You learnt your political science or whatever after learning at Royal College and not when you were in your shorts.
Please dont deny all your experiences at Royal College.
If I have to put some money in the till, I will do it for Royal College that gave me the education and an experience that enables me even today to mingle in any society,culture and religion.

Ranil wanted to raise money for his Presidential Campaign, and on being
told that there was a fortune in horse racing, decided to purchase one and
enter it in the races. However at the local auction in London, the going
price for a horse was very high and that he ended up at Puttlam for buying
a donkey instead.
He figured that since he had it, he might as well go ahead and enter it in
the races. To his surprise, the donkey came in third!
The next day head lines of the local news paper said: RANIL'S ASS SHOWS.
At the next outing it won. The paper read: RANIL'S ASS OUT IN FRONT.
Maithree was so upset with this kind of publicity that she ordered RANIL
not to enter the donkey into the next race.
The paper headline read: WIFE SCRATCHES RANIL'S ASS. The publicity was too
much for Maithree. So she ordered RANIL to get rid of the donkey.
So RANIL decided to sell the donkey to CHANDRIKA. The paper headline the
next day read: CHANDRIKA TAKES RANIL'S ASS.
Followed by another on the next day read: NOW CHANDRIKA HAS THE BEST ASS
IN TOWN.
All the leaders of the Aliance got very upset at this kind of publicity.
They informed CHANDRIKA that she would have to get rid of the donkey, so
she decided to sell it to the JVP, but SOMAWANSA AMARASINGHE refused to
accept the donkey.
Next day the headline read: SOMAWANSA AMARASINGHE REFUSES CHANDRIKA'S ASS.
The blokes in the Aliance were so upset again at this kind of publicity.
They forced CHANDRIKA to sell the donkey to any civilian but politician.
CHANDRIKA sold her donkey to a farmer for Rs. 500.00 Next day the headline
read: CHANDRIKA SELLS HER ASS FOR Rs. 500.00
This was too much for the veteran Politician and PM MAHINDA RAJAPAKSA, so
he ordered CHANDRIKA to buy back the donkey and lead it to the Puttlam
where it could run wild and free. Next day, headline in the paper read:
CHANDRIKA ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE.
SARATH AMUNUGAMA was sorry about the donkey and patted it and gave it the
Joint Mechanism papers to chew on before it was released. Next day the
headline read: 'SARATH AMUNUGAMA FEELS CHANDRIKA'S ASS BEFORE IT GOES
FREE'. |

I must admit that you are well versed with your manufactured history indeed. I need to do some research before I come back to you on some of the points.
For your information, Price Charles, as you know, is next in line for the throne, and he cannot make statements willy nelly; the statement of that magnitude had to be qualified by the Royal machinery. So, for you to assert that it was his personal opinion is ludicrous indeed; you haven't hit a six, but caught brilliantly on the boundary line. |

I do not know the authenticity of your claim that Eastern region was part of the Kandian Kingdom, as I am not a historian; however, I know for a fact that the last king of Kandy, Sri Wicgramarajasingan was a Tamil. The fact is that there are 4,000 Tamil words in Sinhala language; surely, you are not going to claim that Sinhala existed before Tamil! It won't surprise me.
Anyhow, it is ridiculous that I am talking about historical aspects, as it irrelevant to the present situation. The issue is that you are facing LTTE; can you defeat them militarily? If you say yes, then, you will need to go and join the SLA and fight; If not, you will need to negotiate. Otherwise, please do not make noises.
I for one, not in favour of dividing the nation, and keen to find a way to live together; however, with people like you and Munchalinda who are hell bent on enforcing your Sinhala Buddhist hegemony on everyone; if you carry on with this kind of attitude, the country will be doomed. |
