The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) group of the Central Provincial Council voted against a supplementary vote of Rs. 26.8 million tabled by the Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake, to purchase three luxury vehides.
The nine member group of the JVP functioning as an independent group was against the move of the ruling Peoples Alliance (PA) as the JVP did not approve of the purpose of the investment, JVP group leader Samansiri Fernando told a news conference.
`This is not the time to purchase vehicles for three top brass of the Central Provincil Council, Samansiri Fernando` said.
One of the the luxury vehicles is for the use of the Chief Minister of the Central Province. Why should a public servant be allocated a luxury motor vehicle at a cost of Rs. 8 million of the public funds' PC member Samansiri Fernando quirried.
The Provincial Council had violated the tender procedure of the council in the purchase of the luxury vehicles, Fernando accused.
However the supplementary vote was passed by a majority vote. The CWC group voted with the ruling PA.
The UNP and the JVP voted against.
Chairman, D. Madi Yugaragah, presided at the meeting last Friday 12.
The meeting was held at the PC, auditorium at Pallekele.

All the pundits who accuses the JVP,pl read this caption how they think about spending public funds for personal use of the Chief Minister and the bigwits?
Its a shame for all MPP,Ministers and the like to spend public funds for their own convenience when a large number of the public are, unemployed, starving, suffer for lack of proper medication etc.
President to the MP should take an example from the Indian Legistators!!Its worth! |

| Well done JVP, you are very mindful of the forthcoming election. You have become quite smart now and know how to hoodwink the fools. Your earlier method of absolute violence, killing even the wifes and children of the armed forces, is a forgotten past I hope. This is how you should do politics. One of the JVP MP's had even changed his sarong into a suit only after getting into the Business Class on his way to Bangkok, before the champaign was served, smooth as a silk! He was also seen in the same suit in Patpong, the famous red light district going on a study tour. Another Guy demanded Oslo to go back home and almost on the same day privately accepted a couple of millions. That is how you should do politics in the south. Otherwise how could a man weighing pity and parippu in the CWE is able to send his son to the US to study safe drug use, firearm handling and club trotting? So why in a hurry? Wait for the next election and then we could buy all the goodies, be patient. Now that Kadir is gone Chandrika cannot go ahead with her peace work, and if she does you can do lot of damage from outside. You will cry from top of the roof or coconut tree that our great sahodaraya was murdered by the monstrous LTTE and you are talking peace with the murderers. I doubt whether LTTE is working glove in hands with the red sahodarayas, because who is benefited by Kadir's death? It is neither Chandrika nor the Tamils (he has done the maximum and nothing more to do)but the sahodarayas, because madam's peace plan and various other plans are in trouble. But sahodaraya, don't under estimate her, she can turn the table against you. There is emergency, a patriot was murdered, country in turmoil, there is severe security threat and this is not the time to have an election. Worst, we have to lock up all the trouble makers indefinitely. So watch out sahodaraya, your village brain won't match the urban Sorbonne brain. I am sure Chandra Fernando with his skills will bring the culprits to book. |

The politicians who did not have a push cycle wants luxury vehicles to deliver the services as peoples servants when they have power in a third world poor country like Sri Lanka. How pathetic. JVP, you are doing an excellent job as peoples representatives. We are very proud of you. The politicians and their henchmen who robbed the money from the people are peeing on their pants when they heard this kind of story. Let those dogs to bark. You should deliver the best service to the poor people of the country. I wish best of luck to you. Keep it up. And thank you for the UNP members who voted against this, at least now you understand the wrongness of this kind of expenditures wastings public money.

NADA,
I do not want to say WELL DONE JVP here again since this is something they are doing for years if not for decades.
I also do not want to question all the things you mentioned there because I know they are just absolute mud slugging primarily ochestrated by UNP media units, but nothing else.
However, I want to know further about one of the things you mentioned. Who is the person who used to weigh Piti and Parippu who later sent his son to US. Are you speaking about a current JVP member. Please tell me who this person is.
Thanks.

Gama, I am 'not like sherlock Holmes', I am indeed Sherlock Holmes. Unbiased observation, careful analysis and rational educated evaluation and you are just there. You try that and you will be my assistant, Dr.Watson! Until then you will be praising the sahodarayas. Have you seen people walking on the roads with their saline drips and nasal tubes dangling from them because the hospitals were closed.Have you seen infants dead in the premature baby units because the hospital was closed. Have you heard doctors and nurses assaulted for treating the patients. sahodarayas re-wrote the Hippocratic oath. It was all seen in 1986-87. If you want proof you could have it.
Holmes told Watson ' if we could fly out of that window hand in hand, hover over this great city, gently remove the roofs, and peep in at the queer things that are going on, the strange coincidences, the planning, the cross-purposes, the wonderful chains of events, working through generations, and leading to to the most outre results, it would make all fiction with its conventionalities and foreseen conclusions most stale and unprofitable.
Regards
from Baker street
NB. Sorry I wrongly addressed as Linda it is Gama again. Mervin the deputy minister who scolded all the press people in filty recently in front of the court of law. |
