| I have a question for all you eelam folks. If you wanted to be a seperate state to govern your self, all rules and regulations your way, your own contitution and most but not least importantly self sufficient, why were you guys screaming about the SL government not helping you with tsunami aid. You should be able to handle these situations BY YOUR SELF AS WELL. |

Some Sinhalese and English media notably Island and Divaina are mostly biased against Tamils. The President conceeds that the murder of the barber in Jaffna by a soldier and other killings in the east are the work of extremists within the Security Forces to disturrb the peace and instigate violence in order to tarnish the image of Sri Lanka. Look at a summery iof what she said:
President Kumaratunga has learned that the two armed Army personnel involved in the incident acted in contravention of military regulations on several counts. The President has directed military and police authorities to conduct a full and comprehensive investigation into this incident (she must appoint an independent Commission to investigate because the military will try to protect their own personnel).
'This uncalled for incident caused a violent reaction from residents leading to the killing of Superintendent of Police Wijewardena. He was an officer who was held in high esteem by the Police Department and the public.
President Kumaratunga is perturbed by the frequency of these provocative incidents during the past several weeks, the President's Office said.
These incidents seem to be deliberately contrived by extremist elements to invite reprisals leading to the escalation of the conflict situation prevailing in the North and East.
The President has directed the Service Commanders and the IGP to be vigilant and to take the strictest action against all persons engaged in provocative actions'.
Those who jumped to blame LTTE and protect the murderous soldiers are racists, as they can see from the President's statement which must have been based of internal information as she is in charge of Defence. |

MR BUSH ,
Tigerss19 gave you a good answer to your stupid question, and what you know to answer is 'good excuse'. Can you do an intelligent comment about it ? Or just want you not accept it ?
Ask SLA to leave N-E, and we will never ask a thing to Sri lankans and SL Govt.
The problem is that we are still considered as sri lankans, so you are forced to share the goods with us.
If you want not share, ask your govt. to give us our Eelam , it's will be better for us and for you.
We will never ask you for a cent, we will never put a foot in Sinhalas area. |

Sonofeelam,tigeres19,kural,
Among the Tamil members of this forum only very few like noel william who understand that it is human lives which had been lost in this tragedy and respect human values ,and express importance of mutual cooperation and coexistence. The rest of you are unfortunately bunch of terrorists indoctrinated with Elam racism.
If the Tamil members do not believe that the soldier killed the civilian by accident say so and condemn it .That is fine. But how does it justify killing of the SP after being abducted. Your attitude show that this forum is infested not by decent civilians who want to have an intelligent discussion but a bunch of terrorist who want to demonstrate their hatred towards Singhalese.
What went wrong in the saloon we do not know? To begin with it was the negligence of the soldier if the said story was true. If it was the harassment of the public by the soldiers again it is the fault of the soldier. But the Police officer is not at fault here. If Tamil public/or a LTTE member had treated a senior Police officer in this manner it shows that they do not want any peace any more and are promoting violence.
One important thing you guys had forgotten. After 1983 there has not been any riots against Tamils in Singhalese dominated areas where large number of Tamils are now safely living despite all the violence occurred against Singhalese since then, and it will not happen because the violence which happened was instigated by then JRJ/UNP GOV. Singhalese were not racists but unfortunately were chauvinists. They have learnt their lessons and they want the Tamils to live in this country with mutual cooperation and coexistence and will never allow an Elam. And Tamils thought what they have been doing was right and after 30 years people who have the commonsense had realized that the strategy can be changed; there is opportunity for mutual cooperation and coexistence. Those who still could not understand will bring misery and death to many.
More misery and death had been brought to the Tamils by its liberation movement since it's inauguration than any discrimination done by Singhalese to the Tamils. This is a fact and remember it very well. |

Hi Folks!
According to my friend in Jaffna, this is what happened. An army officer was having a haircut in the saloon, a soldier who had a personal dispute (Was not given leave to go to his home town) went to shoot this army officer and in the process he shot the barber.
Whatever it is both murders have to be equally condemned. |

Nighthawk,
Good to see yr comments again my friend. We need men like you here. Noel has been busy but he is around. Thanks for yr two cents. We have had huge disagreements but many of us like your way of putting things across.
Magha,
Thanks for making it clear to the others in the forum that 1983 riots had nothing to do with ordinary Sinhalease. I want to add that it had nothing to do with the army too. I can not talk too much about it because I do not want to embarass people who may not even be living.
I reiterate folks, magha is right. 83 riots have nothing to do with sinhalease people. |
