PM invites TNA for talks
Tuesday, 2 August 2005 - 2:31 AM SL Time

SLFP`s newly appointed presidential candidate Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse has invited the Tamil National Alliance for talks to solicit its support at the next presidential election.

The request was made through TNA Parliamentarian M.K. Ilavendran when he met the premier in Colombo.

Mr. Ilavendran said there was no problem regarding a discussion between the premier and the TNA, but the premier and the SLFP should realize the views and objectives of the Tamil community.

He said the Tamil people would not be too happy if the premier was to join hands with the JVP.

This is a very strategic move by the PM ...and as gamaya says i never think that Mahinda R is a traitor like P.ranil or CBK...but I doubt the support of JVP and JHU to Mahinda R if he tries to get TNA involved in his campain...

on the other hand, TNA will definetely support P.ranil as he has already done so much of service to the wanni butchers...

Gamaya :

Im soo glad to hear that i have made you a Mahinda R supporter. Mahinda has told me that for every vote i bring to his side - he is going to transfer Rs10 from the 'Helping Hambanthota' to my PRIVATE BANK ACCOUNT (wink wink)....

U know the really funny thing is - NO one really supports Mahinda or the JVP in this forum. They only write things in support of them :) :) :) LOL

Gentlemen,
Weakness of the 'Current' so called UNP upporters:
When someone tell somethig, they are not ready to listen, go on offensive.
When someone shows that UNPens are corrupted, no action taken against the culprit, but shhot the messenger.
When whole country rejects child molesters like Mr Duminds Silva, the supreme leader himself try to cover up the story.

UNP will never come out of this hell hole unless they evlove and develop.

Never forget that the elections are won due to the 'floating votes' When a floatig voter want to inquire about the party they are going to vote, what he gets is abuse.

No Wonder Mr Gamage converted in to a strong Mahinda R supporter from the 'floting voter' level.
Cheers

I have always maintained that Mahinda is a good man. I know for a fact that he is not a racist!

Tamil prople however wont vote for him. It is not because they dont like him, it is simply because they hate the SLFP. Tamils were more biased towards UNP to begin with. CBK made so many political blunders, and launched wrong military offensives, she totally isolated SLFP from Tamil people. Now no self respecting Tamil would vote for SLFP and as a result Mahinda.

No harm in talking to TNA. But nothing will be delivered!
