Hey if they look anything like the ones you get in Indian films, I don't mind if they are given a permanent stay visa.

Dumindak,

I see your frustration and your recommendation. In fact it is well known that sexual deprivation leads to violence too. Two important things to note here.

One the local girls were brought to this job by Pradeshya Sabha members, may be even JVP guys, who promissed so many thousands of jobs

Second the value of SL Ruppees, those days it was only around Rs 100 but now 5-10 thousand, no value at all for the SL currency. But it is imported badu so a little more, may be Rs150 and no more

Dumindak, I feel there should be a ministry for red light area and you could be its first Honorable Minister. We have so many hundreds if not thousands of Ministers for every damn thing, so why not a Minister of prostitution.

AbdulSalam... you have well said:

' Guys who look for cheap sex in Colombo don't need any such areas because sex workers are easy to spot in Colombo streets....Look at the way girls and women dress now? Even a saint will be tempted by the tight fitting pants/skirts/T shirts and blouses. Such provocative dresses stir the baser instinct in man. How can you blame the man if the woman makes herself look so cheap?'

So, if that is the case why not legalise 'sex workers'?!
There should be a way to solve this menace. I remember the 'ugly scenes ' taking place at the Galle Face Green and even in Mt.Lavinia. Another very indecent 'hot spot' is the Victoria Park. I remember, some years ago a popular Policiian voiced a similar statement what I have written, and he sujjested having PARKS only for Lovers.

The mode of dress among females also is a major cause for guys to go berserk.

Aritha_spice , MorafiNes, Abdulsalaam,

SHOULD NOT THE POLICE BE NABBING AND PROSECUTING THE CULPRITS THAN THE INNOCENT VICTIMS?!

Might is right, those who have money and gun have power. Poverty is one of the reasons for driving poor girls to such extremes.

M and A,

It's better if there are registered places for servicing women for those men who indulge in adventures, women in those places can me medically checked, otherwise sexually transmitted diseases can be dangerous especially to a poor country as ours. South Africa is suffering from widespread cases of HIV positive cases. S.Africa also had civil war and poverty and armed men committing all sorts of crimes rape and robbery are everywhere.

I have heard or seen 3 places (Katugastota, a place in between Moneragala and Ambalantota and Pettah) of such services in the country during 60s. Katugastota served hormone driven undergrads of Peradeniya University Campus.

Does a woman's attire give a sex starved man the right to be harassed.

Aren't we living among animals?

Just wondering what's happening in paradise?

Basic human rights violated!
