Lankan doctor in Germany donates ultra sound scanner to hospital

The Hambantota district general hospital received an ultra sound scanner, two generators worth Rs. 10 million from a Sri Lankan doctor residing in Rothemburg, Germany.
The donation was made at the request of the Medical Superintendent (MS) of Hambantota district general hospital Dr. V. P. Ariyawansa.
The MS said the hospital would also get a portable incubator for neorates from the UNICEF and consignment of drugs and Rs. 4.5 million worth medical equipment from the World Vision.
He also said the Plan International would donate medical equipment worth Rs. 17 million and a film optic sygno. `These will prove to be a boon to patients`, he added.

Thank you very much Doctor for your unprecedented donation. Hope it will open up the eyes of other professionals around the world who have forgot that they are from Sri Lanka and that they received free education. I m serious on this...I know some people who are not willing to call themselves Sri Lankans.
But Doctor you are blessing to our mother land and a gem to our nation. May the energy of the ultimate truth always guide you. |
