UNP media man involved in Maj. Muthalif's murder
A chief of UNP leader Ranil Wickremasinghe's media unit teamed up with the Wanni tiger organization to carry out the murder of Maj. Muthalif, a commander of the Intelligence services of S.L. Army, reveal information received by the CID. The booty this UNP media person had received for his share of the murder is said to be Rs.5 million.
Sanjeewa, an editor of 'Jana Handa' a newspaper of the UNP was the person who had given information about Maj. Muthalif and made the necessary coordination between the murderers and the tigers. He was a resident at Vihara Mawatha, Galborella in Kelaniya and is absconding now. Anura, one of his chief henchmen has been apprehended.
Sanjeewa had used identity cards of Prime Minister's Media Unit and those of journalists covering Parliamentary sessions to do the necessary coordination for the murder. Wanni tigers had promised a printing press to Sanjeewa and a biscuit factory to Anura for their involvement in the murder of Maj. Muthalif.
Meanwhile, information has also received that the murdering team of Maj. Muthalif had got down a large number of ultra modern weapons from abroad and the team of murderers and planners had had several meetings with several higher officials of S.L. Army. |

We had been toight by the world history how KGB and other Spy agencies had planted moles, bought agents and doble agents.
It is fact of life that LTTE has done its home work well by undertsanding the war histories well, and have been advancing and enhancing their tactics.
Tamils are a by nature an intelligent race that propered for centuries in trade and kingdoms extending to East Asia.
When this intelligence is hijacked by Mr.Pirapakaran's LTTE in the name of ' Tamil self determination, Rights' of course we have to expect them to take the edge on the modern/contemprory war.
This war will not won by any Sri lankan governments by arms. Even India now playing friend to SL politicians is not totally against LTTE or Tamil Struggle.
India intends to extend its tentacles over SL and take control.... it had already achieved it over 60% now. Look at our buses, motorbike, consumable, anything.... this is economic power.
So, Let's try to educate the SL politicians to not to fool the country for their business, but to reach a political solution to this bloody war.
All emotions of calling bastards... etc will not bring any positive results.

They are innocent until proven guilty ! remember , i know how srilankas media works, if you hang around in a coffe shop if you are borred the police will take you to the police station. and ask for 5 laks or they will ask for signature to confirm that i have done something illegal. if not they will tell the media that they caught a LTTE suspect planing to plant something there and here , media will print it in front page , everyone will believe that.
then poor me pays that 5laks and they let me go , newspaper have sold their copies , police have got their money and poor singhalese feel that they are winning.
i have heard stories LTTE have very good connection with verry top officers and they do stay with them . not hanging around here and there. those who hang here and there are the poor guys who wants to escape the country to earn money |

Victor , this is what all tamils been saying from start, all other countries have their countries interest at heart ( i gave example of air trafic control system sold by Tony blair to tanzania) india is no exception.
generosity of tamils will benifit singhalese , simple example once the ceacefire was signed lots of tamils living abroad invested lots of money in colombo. once the armymoved out from northeast they will invest even large amounts. |

Impressive explanation...to Ruvi...but buddy...though we had those punishments during king Rajasinghe's time...even then no one accepted that...anyhow...in this day and age by no means we could accept those things...

Looks like you have lost it, brother. You talk about chopping people up - were you one of those involved with the Bindunuwewa massacre? Have some mercy on your fellow sinhalese brothers who may have sold a few titbits to the Tigers. It is quite natural because we have lived like brothers for hundreds of years, haven't we?
We have a few traitors on our side too, like Karuna, Douglas Devananda etc who are now very good friends of yours. Try and be kind to these two generous Sinhalese gentlemen who were only trying to help their Tamil brothers.

you seem to have missed the point by a long shot...!
Yes I was living in SL up until three months back .And yes I AM fully aware of all the atrocities that happen in the SL system.
I too condemn this act from a person who is a member of the forces(our national heroes!!)
But my point is none of that...my point is that you profess a desire to kill, quarter ,burn and what not all perpetrators of law, all tamils and anyone else who doesn't seem to adhere to the accepted norm of your idealistic 'perfect Sri Lanka'.
What I wanted to convey to you was that when you put down murderous thoughts in black and white on a public forum
(and I have read many more of your comments on other issues as well),the message you give off to others is that of violence!!
You lose a chance to make a difference to the forum by enriching it with meaningful dialogues.
I mean ,to say that' someone should be quartered and hung ...'does that really qualify as a meaningful statement?
I have read many many very interesting insights from regular contributors.
This forum is a place that should allow us to engage in meaningful conversations and viewpoints.
NOt a place to vent out frustrations.
I did not mean to offend you in anyway but hope that you will take it in the spirit its meant for you.

No Im NOT a christian ..Im a buddhist.A practising one at that who doesn't harbour thougths of killing,burning or quartering anyone...nor do i write down violent statements to that effect.
