Ex-Army chief`s son in league with Mutalif`s killers
Thursday, 7 July 2005 - 9:41 AM SL Time

A senior LTTE cadre and a Sinhala businessman, held in connection with their involvement in the recent assassination of military intelligence officer Lt. Col. T. Mutaliff, under interrogation claimed that they were about to receive vital information on the strength of the Artillery Regiment from an army officer, a senior investigator said.

They identified the officer as the son of a former army commander. The LTTE cadre identified as Rajan and the businessman admitted that they met the officer at a camp at Ratmalana and Minneriya several times over a period of time, the officer said.

According to them, the officer was to receive a sum of Rs. 5 million for passing information. The businessman had charged Rs one million for arranging the deal, the officer said. They were about to conclude the deal with the army officer when Bandaragama police made, what our sources termed, a chance arrest on Tuesday.

Rajan and the businessmen are among five persons arrested on Tuesday in connection with the Mutalif`s assassination.

With their arrest, police believe they have made a major breakthrough in their investigations into the recent killing.

Police claimed that the person who shot the officer dead was among the arrested.

Mutaliff was shot dead at Elvitigala Mawatha, near Polhengoda junction, as he drove to the Kotelawela Defence Academy.

Police recovered a T-56 assault rifle, 9m.m. pistol, micro pistol and small consignment of ammunition.

Local police said that the arrest of a person living at Bandaragama led to the arrest of three LTTE cadres working at a confectionery in Ratmalana.

Come on Kadi,...take it easy buddy...but I think these traitors of the mother land should be given the capital punishment...but thing with our forces is the punishment for these idiotic traitors is not tuff enough...

there ll be people any where in the world who bend and come in their knees when they see dolars...But we have to accept that there were traitors amoung the high ranks of Hitler's army also...but those were immediately shot when their double act is uncovered...we should do the same...

but by no means their families should be involved, unless they are also involved in this act...this just my idea...

chao...

The greatest betrayal..
Capt. Balagalle & Capt. Saman Vedarachhi from the SLA should get involved in betraying the nation.........

Special Forces ; You were right. CBK signed the P-TOMS for all the right reasons & police by their arrest proved it.
Furthermore, Forces are corrupt & that is the reason CBK had no trust or even consulted them.
JVP & JHU howling against P-TOMS are in vain.

Looks like, GOSL will have to invite Mr. Prabakaran & his forces to put things right in SL.

Country & the Forces were to be crucified by passing artillery details of the Forces for mere Rs. 5m ??
How cheap...peanuts..........????????

Todays column has one article dedicated to a COP soliciting a bribe for a traffic offence. This act appears to be a 'Blue Murder'.
It was the same COPS who unveiled this plot to save the armed forces & the country.

Forget Sovereignity & invite the terrorists to form a national government to revive the country.

Send Capt. Balagalla & Capt. Saman.V to sit on the throne ! the pol ula !
Which is greater ? SB'or this betrayal of the nation ????

God save Sri Lanka.

HE The President was finally right.
Papa Balagalla sports a pirith nu-la, & son Balagalla had no iota of respect for those priest who nearly sacrificed their lives to save the country who infact ties this same pirith nu-la on Buddhist to invoke blessings & protection

Will Hon. Lionel Balagalle come forward to defend his son ?
From where did he get the info ? From papa's former Jt. Operations Hq ?

Despite the seriousness, this could only happen in SL & yet the culprits could go scot free.....& later honoured & promoted.....What a rag tag army ?

These betrayers should be hung to death at public as a lession to every others. This is what Ltte is strengthening and this black mark goes to entire forces, we can never eradicate terrorism before eradicating these characters.
