Someone says, ?Take a good look at the Indian system of Federalism. That country consists of different people, different cultures different languages and different identity, yet when you ask for their nationality they?d say ?I?m Indian?. Not Gujarati , not Malayali , not Tamil ..just Indian.???

There should be a way of asking for something and it should be reasonable enough to accept under a democratic political arena. You can NOT just take some guns kill some ppl & threaten the Govnmtn in power and ask for federalism. Its like a thug demanding for a ransom and kill ppl if not granted.

| I would like to mention one thing,tamil ppl didnt take up arms first,they were forced to do that.When they fought in a ahimsa way they were suppressed by extremists in the south,and govt too didnt take any action. |

| Sunawij.. go read a history book.. we did ask for federalism in a very peaceful way.. and ur government also agreed.. (ex: B-C, S-C pacts).. then they later stabbed us in the back.. and they didn't stop at that they also wanted to put down the claim for autonomy once and for all, so they started the ethnic cleansing from 58 and went on till 83.. the result was the LTTE.. who later returned the favor. |

There we go. You just re-iterated my point. No body fought each other in India to get the system of federalism because their thoughtful leaders anticipated the ugliness that would cause early on , unlike DSS or SWRD. And only BECAUSE they were given a federal system of autonomy the different groups of people in India now live without a mess that is happening in Sri Lanka. The pile of crap situation we?re in now, LTTE demanding autonomy with military force, COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED if our leaders treated other minorities with respect. What they did instead is history. |
