MR has been humiliated during his visit to India.
I think MR wants the take revenge for his humiliation.
I am sure no other country is going help in the peace process other than Norway. Now that people in the south don't have any friends they have nothing to lose even if they go for another 1977 or 1983.

Your attitude is simply mind boggling. It looks like you do not wish to have the ethnic problem solved peacefully.
The father of the ethnic troubles was the Sinhala only act. The mother of the ethnic troubles was standardisation of University admissions. These two gave birth to the LTTE and various other Tamil militant organisations.
If you are trying to justify the existence and the views of the JVP and the JHU because of the existence of the LTTE, then you are looking at another war and division of the country.
If this is what you want, so be it.
First you antagonised the SL Tamils and now you have antagonised the Upcountry Tamils. Do you realise that these two can get together and bring Sri Lanka down on it's knees, both militarily and economically?
You two are incorrigible Sinhala chauvinists.There is no hope for the country as long as the majority of the Sinhalese hold the views you hold. |

Only 207 were taken into custody for questioning,
Reason - Failure to provide identification details of themselves.
This is a fundamental requirement for a Civil society according to Geneva Convention.
Therefore people have no rights to accuse Officials (Police and Military) for taking this action,
atleast these 207 people could pose fake ids, but they didnt even try that , why are they staying in the country without ID card, sounds crazy |

What you are preaching is very old RHETORIC.
You need to find better convincing facts.
MY CONCERN IS, out of this 900 people there are how many people with valid identifications but they are here to make colombo a mess.

What's News, 920 Tamils arrested in one day at Colombo. At west, lot of people of East came without ID and we gave them citizenships, but racist Sinhalese Government arrested Tamils in Colombo as Nazis did in Germany during 40s.

You came to west without IDs and the west gave you refugee status, reason they knew you were not going to blow up anything in the west.
It is not the same case for colombo.
You people are waiting until some of these 'innocent tamils' kill people in colombo or blow up colombo, then you people can dance around that just like Barbarians.
SOME HOW, this is old news now. Another report says except for 53 people all are released.
Out of those 53 people five were known LTTEers. All others were suspected drug traffickers.

Whatever they say, it is the ultimate responsibility of GOSL/SLA to provide security in the south. Colombo is the commercial city of the country and one blast inside the city would affect everyone's life whether it's Sinhala, Tamil or Muslims.
Needless to say Tigers are getting the support from some Tamils living in Colombo. Ideal place to search to find the suspects are those Tamil houses. Anyone who fails to provide identity should be investigated in proper manner.
These types of cordon and search were conducted by Police and Army during 89/90 at every single house. Security forces didn't search Tamils' houses to find JVP killers.

No cause, ideology, discrimination or separation justfy cold blooded murder of members of a country's security forces, who are protecting all communities. No one is asking for a reason either.
It does not matter how hard you S C R E A M!
In a democratic system, clever, capable leaders from all sides find solutions in peaceful ways. (Note the words, 'clever', 'capable'.) No democratic system is perfect and improvements are being made regularly.
If Tamils, sinhalaas, muslims, burghers have issues and believe that they should live in separate states, let their skillfull leaders unite their people and come up with one strong party. Then campaign, get the vote and achieve the goals. Difficult eh?
The mistake was that crooked, self-serving Tamil 'leaders', through false propaganda and lies to unsuspecting peaceful Tamils, promised 'liberation' to people who were already living in freedom! I hope you are not one of the victims!
And another meathead... swallowed an Indian d-rope and blindly reached for the gun. One of the visible outcome of his fake 25 years of 'struggle' is that they are killing fellow free thinking Tamils. What a U-turn!

My dear friends,
Just about the New Year dawns on our beloved country, this event is disheartening.
If the President has ordered the Police and Army to conduct these raids his actions seem a revenge on the Tamils as said by Tamils and the Singhalese say it is for the safety of everyone.
Briefly, GOSL is adding fuel to fire. Bloody fools.
This event has already taken prominence proving the attitude of GOSL, the much publicised Singhala government of Sri Lanka and it's persecution of Tamils.
If the terrorist want to attack Colombo, they are not bound to mobilise their own cadres. They have a better weapon, the Under world gangsters living among the Singhalese. Money plays a bigger role in SL.
Yesterday I read on this forum that if LTTE wants to win the war with SLA it would cost them only $ One million.
I dont take this as a joke.
The precendence is set and has been proven that even the Top ranking SLA Officers could be bought; who at their higher level have the exact contacts who realise that the whole problem is a misery caused by the politicians and they better be wise and save the lives of their own brethren within their own country.
The Military also realises that they cannot become heroes killing their own citizens. To exemplify, would you call any soldier a hero,who kills the Leader of the JVP. NO!
What we have to realise is that Tamils from the N/E need to travel to Colombo and live in Colombo for many reasons for attending to many administrative affairs as it's situated in Colombo and International travel and many other reasons.
The raid on the Tamil newcomers to Colombo and it's suburbs should not be a persecution of the INNOCENT.
The mere fact that A person is taken to the Police station or any other Detention centre for being ONLY A TAMIL amounts to PERSECUTION.
I am sure these 920 people had NO WEAPON in their possession.Therefore they shouldn't have been taken to any detention centre or the Police station.
The interrogation should have concluded at the residence, period.
As a further precaution the POlice could have issued them a Special ID. Use of cameras on the spot to take pictures of these people could have been arranged by contracting many Photographic sources.
Why can't our Administrators think out of the box????
Issue the Special ID, right on the spot and should be told to carry this in their possession. Thereby these people could be accessed by their Registered particulars.
The entire process of Identifying an Innocent from a Terrorist could be administered by thinking outside the box without resorting to the primitive methods still manouvered by our Police.
The more Persecution of Innocent Tamils of N/E is definitely done in bad taste. I would caution the GOSL.
