As acknoledged by themselves most of them are confussed when someone talks the truth.
This is not a new phenomina in the Catholic world. For them Galilio was wrong and poisoned to kill by the church.
There are numerous idiotic preaches spread by the Church from begining of it. But the difference is now people do not believe them. The best example is Mahinda's win. |

Hello Unfairplay
Mahinda Rajapaksa is not Karawa. He is from a neat Govi clan and when I say neat not like the Nillaperumal descendants of Bandaranikes where the national archives have plenty to read. IF your contention has any material then Dutugemunu who descended from Magampura also a Karawa.
Nonetheless, Sinhalese can not be treated caste biased. You have absolutely paid a blind eye to what Kotalawela and Oswald Gomis tried with that shady ad in papers and public comments against MR at the vie hours of voting. Then all the Tamils in VVT including Tiger Supremo Prabha too would have voted MR.
Are all the catholics who voted for MR Karawa? You are going back to primitive stone age friend. |

What Catholic Church did is understandable. They simply supported the party which had the membership of International Democratic Union, an association of Christian Democrat and like minded political parties in the world.

What is so wrong about the Catholic or any other church supporting a political party? That's their democratic right.
The Buddhists monks are on every stage. For God's sake, they are sitting in the bloody parliament.
Some asinine Sri Lankans seem to think that there are things only the Sinhalese and the Buddhist can do, and not others in their own country. Edited By - hellogoodbye - 21 Dec 2005 01:43:05 G |

To all catholic priests:
Shame on you! How dare you support political parties? Was Jesus Christ a UNPer? How dare you get involved in petty politics? Can you please focus on your religious work instead of getting involved in petty politics? Shame on you!!
You should learn a lesson from our Buddhist priests, who never get involved in poltics or business and concentrate only on religious work!

Well said Jeyaraj!
Those soundrel Catholic priests who were running about telling people who to vote for should be kicked out the Church for good.
These Catholic priests should spend their time preaching and the guiding the flock and not abusing little boys, buying converts to Christianity and acting like political tools. Their uglyness has been revealed during the Presidential election.
The Archbishop of Colombo is an embarassment to the Church in Sri Lanka. A complete idiot who is in bed with Christian fundamentalists and other dregs of society. The sooner the Church gets rid of him, the better.
These days it is very difficult to find a genuine Chritian priest in Sri Lanka. Only a handful are genunine followers of Christ. Most are scoundrels and thugs not worth the robes they are wearing. |

Good point Waruna. The Christian fundamentalists are happy to create religious violence wherever they go. They have no respect for religious diversity or the culture of other people. It is not unique to Sri Lanka. If you're interested in more information about how these 'soldiers of God' are running about tearing apart religiou harmony in India please have a look at:

Sad to see Christian priests in Sri Lanka sucumb to this rabid fanaticism. Then again, it never really went away ever since the Catholic Portuguese set foot in the country
and went about burning down Buddhist temples and Hindu kovils. |

For argument's sake, if every thing is so wrong with Christianity, why is your main man, 'the savior of Buddha Sasana,' Mahinda, the great Sinhala/Buddhists president, educating all his children in an elite Christian school?
There seems to be no limit to the stupidity of Sinhala/Buddhists! |

I find nothing 'wrong' with moderate and liberal Christianity. Fundamentalist and Evangelical Christianity is another matter though. They are just interested in buying souls for the God that they worship and are not interested in religious harmony and religious tolerance. They will do anything in their power just to win converts and when people stand up to their fanaticism and bible thumping they scream from the rooftops as if they are the victims.
Then you have retards like Archbishop Oswald Gomis supporting the activities of these facists and prancing in his frock trying to stick his nose into politics.
Let me put that comment back to you: there seems to be no limit to the stupidity of Sinhala/Christians! |
