Fairplay and Aritha, both of you are right.
If EPA can provide entertainment they should be allowed to operate in Galle Face and it is easier to include a clause in the agreemnt that they will not be the sole operators. Anyone willing to operate there should be able to do so with a permit from CMC.
No matter what facilities one may provide, nothing beats a song and dance session with friends on a breezy night ...

Dear Fairplay and Bongo,
You are both right. As long as EAP was not the sole provider of entertainment, it should not be objectionable. To determine that we have to read the agreement and observe whether such a clause was indeed there, atleast impliedly.
Fairplay, the place next to the Nestle Office was Millenium Park and now called Excel World.
Also, to all those who have nostalgic memories of drink and dance at Galle Face Green, it is now a strictly no alcohol area. Although I think it would be better if light alcohols were allowed to be sold there or consumption allowed in a certain part.
Best Regards,

Aritha_spice,
To have no misunderstanding, we took our own alcoholic drinks to Galle Face green then, which I think is not appropriate but was newer sold there by business men like Nana. I think alcohol should be prohibited in public places like Galle face Green anyway, not even allowing Beer. It should only be allowed in designate places like restaurants,Pubs and etc. Edited By - magha - 3 Dec 2005 04:13:48 GMT |

| Let Galle Face Green be a promenade maintained by the Government and not make it a carnival. If a government can not maintain 14 acres of land for public usage then the whole country is in bankruptcy. Government should put parking meters , issue license for vendors, strict penalties for littering and consuming alcohol in public. |

Maaweerar,
EAP is a 'Non-profit' outfit alright.... Only some of the backs pass to 'Madam' Soma Edirisinghe's kitty. Thats all.
