President Mahinda Rajapakse yesterday responded to Sunday`s statement made by the LTTE leader Prabhakaran by saying that to him the peace process was not about posturing to win favour with anyone, nationally or internationally.
Addressing the Diplomatic Corps and resident representatives of UN and other international agencies at the President Secretariat yesterday (28), President Rajapakse said the peace process was about resolving a very complex issue that has polarized the social fabric of ociety. `My agenda is very clear, the process of achieving peace must be founded on commitments that can be delivered in full. It is towards this end that I build consensus within the political landscape, so that agreements we reach at peace talks are fully deliverable.`
`In this regard I welcome Mr. Prabhakaran`s remarks yesterday recognizing my pragmatic approach and my invitation to talks as extending the hand of friendship. Let me use this occasion to reiterate my invitation to Mr. Prabhakaran,` the President said.

How Romantic - Mahinda and Praba sending love messages to each other :) :) :)
A southern concensus is already there - the SLFP and the UNP agree on a federal model. So this talk of reaching ANOTHER CONCENSUS is a time buying exercise and giving the LTTE exactly what they want.
The UNP should give Mahnda an 'blank check' - and say we will agree to what ever you want :) :) and call the PIN GONAs bluff..... Edited By - anizam - 28 Nov 2005 21:59:56 GMT |

Until Mr. Rajapakse pays his dues to Ranil, he would not own that part of the peace process.

| What the hell is this. Mahinda and his gang accused the UNP of having secret agreements with the ltte and now they are exchanging love letters. We all know that Mahinda and Prabakaran have a secret agreement which resulted in the win for Mahinda where the ltte literally helped Mahinda to power. I don't think the ltte has the guts to start a war and Mahinda knows it |

Maveerar,
When nobody is able to stop the Clergy from visiting the brothels, how could anyone stop these guys. Is their stuff made of metal. Just grow up young man.
Bangkok is an exotic place that many people visiting there prefer to return only with the Bang.

Maaveerar: nom de plume k.Balan
Have you really understood what Mr. Anton Balasingham Talked about.?
He was kidding about one person.
you are subtle, you twist the story.
You spread rumours like this.
What is in your head 'he said too' |

Extras can't change the show. Extras will always remain the extras.
Paix is right. Maaveerar is twisting the story. What Anton said was why should you go to Bangkok in the name of talks than rub.
Anton meant that nothing constructive was happening at these meetings.

Infact i saw AB's speech on TV and its was more direct and humourous. lot of colloquialism and easy to pick up for the ordinary man. he basically explained in detail VP's speech. Either you heard wrong and justout of frustration make a moutain out of a molehill Edited By - tamilcanuck - 28 Nov 2005 23:59:30 GM |
