So, A Banda's are definitely out as JVP promissed. They forgot what their beloved father and mother taught.
Can Mahinda do anything what he promissed? Nothing. You can elect Dalada Maligawa chief as your next PRZ. Nothing will happen in the N&E. Tamils can wait till you guys are ready.
CWC, SLMC have to join GOVT till the next election. |

Well said Suranimala,
I suspect you are Lasantha from Sunday Leader. Now we all realise why they call us Sinhalaya modya Kauna Kanna yodaya. Prabah was well trapped. This gave him a chance to wriggle free. As long as we have dumb leaders and strategists like Mongal to mislead people we will be down in the dumps. Just for short term gain.
LTTE planned it perfectly. As soon as the election were announced they got rid of Kadir. The Only brains behind UPFA. Now UPFA is like a head less chicken. Who is going to give them sound advise? Who is going for negotiations, Who is going to talk to international community?. Who as that sort of credibility in UPFA. Mahinda? Uncle Some? Mangala , DM ? Wimal?. This is a bloody joke. Then LTTE gave hopes to Ranil and UNP,then like a hot potato dropped him one week before the election.I guess both Ranil and Chandi Akka knew this. But they were probably not sure, and ketp ranil guessing. To come out and say it would have been political suicide while the election was on.
Patriotism comes in many forms. You do not have to scream your headoff to show that you are a patriot or you do not have to take a gun to your hand to show that you are one. There are many ways that you can do it. No wonder that JVP is against any Educational reform both in schools and Universities. As long as they keep the masses stupid these sorts of results will be plenty. People are living in a fools paradise.
Ranil has to leave politics not becuase he could not wave his hand properly was too smart. We do not deserve a leader like that. We need an idiot to lead idiots. This is like 1956 all over again. We are reliving 1956 politics in the 21st Centruy. |

'JVP MINI MAROW' (?)
'dante dahatun' (!)
Hmm....Another clear evidence to prove the presence of Tamil cadres in JVP after Ranjitham Gunaratnam and before Ramalingam Chandrasekar.

Dear readers,
I read some of your comments with disgust. Why are we still insulting Mahinda and Ranil? The election is over. Mahinda is our president and Ranil is the opposition leader who still has the support of 48.5% of the people in our country. It is time we stop this bickering and get together.
It is no secret that LTTE is carefully orchestrating the future(or the lack of it) of our country. They do this not with fighting the Army but by intelligent succession planning for our leaders. And they are helped by some short-sighted dumb Sri Lankans who only look at short tem benefits.
LTTE first got rid of Lalith, Preme and Gamini. This created a vaccum in southern leadership and paved the way for inexperienced people to become leaders of this country. Then in 99 they almost got rid of Chandrika and then this year it was Kadir. Finally they made sure Ranil did not win. What are we left with?
It was obvious they did not want Ranil to be the president, unless of course Mahinda had a secret pact with Tigers(can we call it atha -koti givisuma..)
Now we are arguing about fertilizer for 350, next Prime Minister, Anura's future and so on. Do n't you realise that our days are numbered? Why are we playing into VP's hand? Whatever it is they are smart and we in the South are dumb.
This is not about Sinhalese vs Tamils or Buddhists vs Christians. This is about right vs wrong. But we are happy fighting in all fronts. We are mutts. LTTE is not true representatives of Tamils. If they really wanted to show that to the world they could have allowed the Tamils to vote and face the outcome.
Dear people it is enough we waited for politicians to make us a future. Let us build a culture which is free from those. They can be facilitators of where we want to get to. It is upto you and I.
Let us unite as Sri Lankans. SInhalese and Tamils, Buddhists and Christians. Greens and blues. Let us not be puppets in some body's hands. Let us not allow our leaders to be puppets in anybody's hands. Only you and I can do that. Let us get rid of all extremists. Green or blue or red even yellow. They are not for our country.
Let's make our country a pearl again, enough being a tear drop. |

I agree with LAKMAL1.
For the first time we had peaceful elelctions.
Similarly, we have to practice talking better about elections with respect to politicians. We degrade ourselves too much.

AnuD,
It is true that after a long period we had a peaceful election. Except for the few, from both side and some of us, the two candidates conducted a descent campaign on issues rather than personal vindication. We have to salute both the leaders for their conduct during the election.
It appears that D M Jayaratne may be confirmed as the PM.
Thanks |

PM post,
Oh it is simple and it is an Impotent post anyway.
A Tamil is ideal for this job just to show the world (not to the Tamils) that democracy is at its peak.
Any Tamil who is opposed to Tamil's welfare is suitable, that is all. Kadir, Sangaree, Douglas or Karuna. They will sit there and praise the master and enjoy the kind offerings. It will be very impressive when they go abroad and praise the master and sing that Tamils are unfair since they are more privileged than the others.
If it is going to be a Sinhalese, then he has to be impotent and stupid enough to hold the impotent post and one who should freely exhibit anti-Tamil rhetoric. He should not be a threat at all to Mahinda. A senior clown will fit into the post and also give Mahinda an excuse as to why he could not appoint a young and a capable person.
