Well done Mahinda,
Get rid of the Bandaranayakes and their allies, do not honor the SLFP.
Make Somawanse the Prime minister, Wimal the finance minister, and Tilvin as the defense minister and appoint Karuna as his deputy.
As promised,
Bring in the Anti conversion bill.
Kick out the Norwegians.
Abolish the CFA.
Cancel the PTOMS.
And start the WAR.
We want to see another Somalia in South Asia.

| I so totally agree with lula, kiribath and booboo. ALL IM gonna say is god bless my dear dear motherland. though i really hate the thought as mahinda as president i just hope everything works out for him (though i knw it wont) for the sake of every1 whose living in srilanka. |

YOU GUYS PLEASE STOP THIS SQUABBLING! THE NEW PRESIDENT HAS JUST SWORN IN, YOU GUYS ARE TRYING TO DIVIDE AMONG YOURSELVES. A DEEPLY DIVIDED OPINION IS LIKE AN INFORMAL DIVISION OF THE COUNTRY!
EVEN IF NO ONE HAS VOTED FOR HIM, MAHINDA HAS BEEN SWORN IN AS PRESIDENT.ONCE IT HAS BEEN DONE THERE IS NO WAY BACK. IF YOU GUYS BELIEVE IN 'IRANAMA' THIS IS IT, MAHINDA IS DESTINED TO BECOME THE PRESIDENT OF SRI LANKA!
THE QUESTION IS WHETHER HE CAN OR CANNOT DELIVER, RATHER HE SHOULD! A LEADER DOES NOT HAVE TO HANG ON TO HIS POLICIES 100%. HE CAN BE FLEXIBLE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE COUNTRY.
SOME MEMBERS EVEN DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT. ALL THE CURRENT OFFICIALS WERE APPPOINTED BY THE UPFA GOVERNMENT, NOT UNP. ONE POINT I SHOULD MENTION, WHEN RANIL BECAME PRESIDENT HE DID NOT REMOVE ANY OFFICIAL APPOINTED BY THE PA ON POLITICAL GROUNDS!
FAIRPLAY: WELL SAID, I CAN BET MAHINDA WILL APPOINT ANURA AS THE PRIME MINISTER. THOUGH A BETTER OPTION WOULD BE RANIL BUT MANY PEOPLE AROUND MAHINDA WILL OPPOSE THAT! BUT IT WILL BE VERY GOOD COMBINATION BECAUSE AMONG OTHER THINGS, RANIL AND MAHINDA ARE NOT RACISTS.
PRABHAKARAN SENSED A UNION OF UNP AND SLFP AFTER A RANIL VICTORY, SO HIS DECISION TO FORCE TAMILS NOT TO VOTE. IF A UNP SLFP UNION HAD HAPPENED LIFE WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY DIFFICULT FOR PRABHA. I THINK THE CONSTITUTION SHOULD BE AMENDED TO MAKE WAY FOR THE LOSING CANDIDATE TO BECOME PRIME MINISTER, SO THE SERVICES OF A TALENTED AND HIGHLY EXPERIENCED PERSON LIKE RANIL WILL NOT GO TO WASTE. NOT ONLY THAT, THE LTTE MACHINATIONS TOO WILL BE NEUTRALISED!

| Everybody in this forum seems worried, some say Ranil was better, as a person who closely knew his party, Ranil was one of the worse leaders UNP ever had ' its true he is not strong and doesnt have a spine.....it was a bad choice..if Karu J. contested even Mahinda would have had a problem in getting all the votes he managed to get from Sinhala areas.......do not worry Mahinda is one of those Stongest Leaders and he is from S O You T H, he will tackle please wait patiently..... |

NEW PRESIDENT should reach to talented and capable UNP politicians while politicans like Anura B should be shipped outside.
RanilW does not look like talented, but his experience should not be wasted.
He should be a good Primeminister.
If Mahinda is a real good leader he would get help from Ranil.
Mahinds should make professional or business like decisions and not decisions based on emotions or traditional such as giving PM post to the senior most politician in SLFP or the one who inherited it.

Lula,
I do agree that the Bandaranaikes be kept away from from politics and that amounts to denying them of any employment. They know only politics and are incapable of doing any other job and to be unemployed to the end of their life is what they deserve.
Now don't insult Somalia. They were never above the 2nd level from the bottom at least since the end of 2nd WW and are still there, but we Ceylonese, yes when we were Ceylon, were the 2nd best economy in Asia next only to Japan when Bandaranaike took over.
With the terrorist stab in our back and with help of our chosen angle with blurred vision and vague ideas we will be soon pulling Somalia up from bottom and putting ourselves at the rock bottom. |

Tamils have voted all those years with their stomach.at the end of the day what did they get in return? a stick.
now the Tamils have gave you the same stick in political terms.
i sympathize with Mr,ranil.w who lost the election NARROWLY TO THE RACIST PARTY WHO DO NOT EVEN WANT TO SHARE THE BEGGED MONEY AS TSUNAMI FUND.,ranil could have been a sensible excellent president for only to the Sinhalese but not as extreme as the other lot.
they lost him.
now in future Sinhalese have to divide them self to have a rule over them self to get a good leader.in that case ranil or unp have a lot to do to snatch jvp's votes some how.they cannot rely on Tamils vote.whoever the Sinhalese banking on us will be the losers.
OUR VOTES ARE SUBJECT TO COMMITMENT.you Sinhalese better get that right if you want a united lanka.
WAR OR PEACE WE TAMILS ARE READY.AT THE END OF THE DAY NO ONE LIKE A WAR.
