Why wont Dhammaloka continue fry eggs and eat Poke with Ranil
Any way who needs Dhammoloka's support
He is a man raped around with saffron coted robes
No different to a layman.

He first pledged to the Most ven. Asgiriye loku hamuduruwo that he(ven.Uduwe) would leave politics after the election. Now says he would support Mahinda in the parliament, so he is not leaving but staying on??Blimey..he must not make himself a joke while on robes.

Lets not talk about uduwe! We all know who he is, but as a whole, I think the bikkus should forget their political differences and support the people's president in developing the country as their ancestral bikkus did with the kings!
ALL Bikkhus, be an example to the people and not the laughing stock!

AnuD and Jillball,

Not only Dhammaloka Thera, but also other monks who decided to contest elections made complete jokes out of themselves. They can do politics but should never have gone to the parliament.

I agree though Dhammaloka Thera should not try this jumping around because he is only embarrassing himself.

Well.. everyone should support new Prez. Thats how you develop a country. Take US and other countries for example. You fight and argue during elections. After it is done you make up and support the winner. That is the true patriotism. We lack that attitude in SL. Do not dwell on the past. Work for future.

Nothing wrong supporting the president, After all now he is not the president of SLFP,JVP and JHU. He is the president of Sri Lanka. Its all Sri lankans duty to support the elected. But the question here is whether Mr.Uduwe is offering help expecting any perks? if that is the case give him a good kick in the back. Otherwise make use of what ever talents he has for the good of the country.

May be other monks made mistakes but at least, they were shouting in one voice. But this monk was extra special. Musavadaya is his prime character. Once he said, he wanted to leave politics because politics takes his time away from social and religious duties and then suddenly negotiated perks with lay-politicians, leaving away from the rest.
He went to Asgiriya and said he would resign after the elections and now says something else.
If a monk wants to represent a community as an MP,I don't think there is nothing wrong. Rather than staying at the temple, forcing other law-makers in decision making, getting all those money that an MP is entitled to and helping out those who elected them isn't a bad idea. But what is wrong is, violating Buddhist principles and becoming a laughing stock, humiliating the religion.
