Well lets do some calculations.

Ranil writes to Mahinder on the 7th.

Mahinder received the letter on the 8th evening advising him that Mr. Milinda Moragoga could be contacted to move the debate challenge forward.

He responds on the 10th asking to Ranil to arrange the meeting via Mr. Dullas Alahapperuma. Surely he could have asked Dulles at the same time to contact Milinda.

So now Milinda will need to try to contact Dulles to discuss the 'Suggested Ground Rules for the Debate' to arrive at a conclusion on the ground rules.

But they will not agree. So we will haggle. To break the deadlock Ranil will finally give ground. Oh dear we have lost so much time now.

Having concluded on the 'Ground Rules for the Debate' now then they can fix a date. But Mahinder has prior appointments on that day...at that time....no not suitable...

New Paper headlines appear 'Ranil refuses to debate Mahinder alleging conflicting campaign schedule'.

15 November 2005 headlines 'Mahinder disappointed that Ranil buys time until deadline and deprived voters of debate on key election issues'.

I think the coward Mahinda agreed to this debate at the last minute because he might have thought that there would not be time to arrange it and he would escape from debating and at the same time not lose face. Imagine that goat debating. If Ranil asks him about Helping Hambantota then he will run away

I am not sure whether to have a debate on a state owned television channel that has been so ruthlessly abused during the election campaign by the party in government would be fair to Mr Wickramasinghe. A politically motivated and sophisticated camera operative could easily make it appear that the UNP candidate was losing the debate, although in actual fact he reverse could be true. The pro-UPFA stance would inevitably be endorsed by the post debate comment on the station. I believe that if such a debate is to take place, it must be shown by two channels, one from the state (to represent the rather confused Rajapakse view) and one from the private sector to endorse the actions of Mr Wickramasinghe.

Mr RANIL Wick-Please dont forget to get ideas from Chosky and Bandula(super genius FinaceMinisters), sorry I forgot GL as well who were utter failures in your last Cabinet.

You LOT wanted to eliminate our duty free allowance ruthelessly in your previous Budget proposal.
It was Mahinda Raja who objected to the proposal and demanded to remove that proposal. Those are known facts from the past.

I would like to inform this forum that 99% Midle-east workers comprising close to a million in the middle-east are for Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa. They totally reject Ranil and his Manifest.

WE CAN EXPECT ALL MIDDLEEAST WORKERS' FAMILIES WILL VOT FOR MAHINDA RAJAPAKSA WHICH MAY BE AT LEAST ANOTHER 2 MILLION VOTES.
MAHINDA RAJAPAKSA DINEWA!!!!

For the next election, it is better to have a dedicated TV
channel for the candidates to address the voters living in Sri Lanka and overseas countries, specially the middle east
population. Presently overseas voters do not have the voting arrangements and this condition should be rectified for future elections. To begin with, live debate of the two main candidates is most welcome.

The reason why people who work in middle east (or for elsewhere for that matter)including desertman supports mahinda may be due to the fact that he will give a better rate for the foreign currecy? Imagine getting Rs.150 for a US$.Country will prosper under Mr.Rajapakse.

Obey Dolarayata wedi milak
Obey Dahadiyata nawa aruthak
Mahinda Rajapakse Janadipathithumata Jayawewa!
