Asgiriya Mahanayake to query PM on tsunami funds

When former Diyawadana Nilame Neranjan Wijeratne met the Mahanayake of the Asgiriya Chapter yesterday, the prelate said that he would request authorities concerned to ascertain what had happened to the Rs. 2,500,000 donated from Sri Dalada Maligawa Funds and the Rs. 150,000 donated from the prelate`s personal funds to provide relief to tsunami-affected persons.
Mr. Wijeratne had informed the Most Venerable Udugama Sri Buddharakkhitha Thera that official receipts have so far not been issued in respect of the donation.
The donations were made by cheques. The Sri Dalada Maligawa cheque had been addressed to the Prime Minister`s Secretary and the cheque from the prelate`s account had been handed over to the former Governor of the Central Province, late Monty Gopallawa in the presence of the Maha Sangha including the Mahanyake Theras of Malwatte and Asgiriya Chapters.
Mr. Wijeratne informed the prelate that Mr. Gopallawa had informed him in writing that the prelate`s cheque had been referred to the Prime Minister`s office.

We expected this type of MUD SLINGING campaign from the PARAJITHAYOs.When time to come there will be more and more by the restles paid servants of the UNP to picture a bad image about MR in all the MEDIA.
BUT THESE ATTEMPTS WILL BE FRUITLESS!

Where were you all these time? When did you donate this money? Yesterday or 10 months ago..LOL
Are you sure that you didn't get the receipt or you misplace it? You have been waiting for the official receipt more than 10 months...
Why the hack you didn't tell this to Mahanayaka before? Ohh..you wait till election time???

This is not mudslinging,this amount is part of the money that was in the slush fund.If you consider this mudslinging what about the alleged computer fraud which was supposed to have taken place 3 years ago,is that not mudslinging against one of the most decent politicians-Ranil W. |

Stealing money from the dalada maligawa also... This is how Mahinda is paying for his campaign... Putting up posters of his monkey face and shoe-brush mustashe...

Well it is time somebody asked the Hon. prime minister about the Honerable intentions he had with the money he Honorobly transferred to his honoroble account.
I have always maintained that he is not a rogue. I still dont think his honoroble self did not use that money for himself. But transferring money to accounts that he manage is not a very honourable thing to do! |

Issue an official receipt is a responsibilty of PM's Office, No doubt, no two words.
But how did the Hamuduruwo had Rs.150,000 personnel money.
Hamuduruwo is not suppose to handle money. If Maha nayaka breaking the winaya, How do you expect samanera waru obey the winaya.

The Lanka Man and all others;
What MR should do is to remove the court order and go infront of the court to show his innecence. Why did he take the court order to stop the investigation. This conversation would not have happend if he allowed to move forword with the investigation. |
