The Laugfs Group of Companies will invest Rs. 250 million on expanding its chain of 24-hour supermarkets, Chairman W. K. H. Wegapitiya said.
The newest Laugfs Supermarket will be opened in Kottawa on October 13, he said.
This will be followed by outlets in Jubilee Post junction, Nugegoda, Moratuwa, Je-ela, Negombo, Nawala and Galle in due course.
`We are also launching a customer-friendly and economical chain of restaurants for fine-dining to cover a cross-section of the clientele in Colombo and its suburbs, Wegapitiya told a news conference last week.
The `SunUp` chain of supermarkets, now popular among the city folk, will be connected to services such as `filling` and `car detailing`, which had made these supermarkets a truly `One Stop Shop, he noted.
Laugfs has, in association with the Ceylinco Group, introduced the One & Only Life insurance Scheme, the first of its nature for Sri Lankan consumers.
The Laugfs SunUp supermarket chain is also joining the Colombo Municipal Council and the Ceylon Gas Company in another environmental`F1friendly gesture of collecting the unusable plastic, paper and glass bottles, which are being disposed from households, Wegapitiya said.
Some of the achievements recorded by the Laugfs Group were, capturing 85% of the market in the sale of LP gas for automobiles and emerging leader in the conversion of petrol vehicles to LP gas, he said.
`The company also made a big breakthrough by entering the domestic LP gas market, which was earlier a monopoly of a multi-national organisation`, he said.

Fantastic, man's needs have now a hole in one.
The only thing missing is the Buddha Sex Parlors.
When this service, comes on line, it will be a hole in none.
LAUGFS, then becomes the LAUGHS, then Ran git Page, of Food City, will be grinning from ear to ear.
Laughing, all the way to the bank.
